Because of the Corona Virus, I have dropped rates, and in addition to our regular thorough cleaning, all frequently touch surfaces are being cleaned between guests with bleach.

Freshly updated cottage sitting high above the Chauga River provides an intimate retreat. Come relax in the quiet setting in the woods with porches, open deck, and private dock. Numerous waterfalls and hiking trails nearby as well as quaint towns with coffee shops and restaurants. But staying in is highly rated.

A quaint cottage tucked into the woods is perfectly sized for a couple or 2, a small family, or small group of friends.

Completely updated with interior paint and expertly furnished with vintage, antique, and custom slipcovered pieces.

Three double French doors off the living/dining area open onto a large covered deck overlooking the Chauga River. You'll find Adirondack chairs and an outdoor table and chairs to enjoy outdoor dining.

Indoors the combined kitchen, living, and dining make gathering convenient and cozy. Cook a big breakfast or special dinner on the vintage range.

A queen sized bed is on the first floor with a second bedroom with twin sized beds on the second floor. Each bedroom is supplied with beautiful bedding, blankets, and pillows, lamps for reading, and antique armoires for hanging clothes. The leather sofa in the living area can be pulled out to make a double bed for extra sleeping.

In the upstairs loft you'll find a ukulele and guitar for making music and a vintage turntable and collection of vinyl for listening to music. Cards, board games, books, and magazines are also in the loft for your use.

If you're looking for some alone time, try the porch swing on the lower, secluded porch.
For getting closer to nature, a stairway behind the cottage meanders through the woods to the small private dock on the river. A large wooden deck with built-in seating is located along the stairway for gathering with friends in the outdoors.

Guest access
Guests will have access to entire cottage including decks, outdoor stairway, and private dock.

Other things to note
Best suited for children over 10 years of age who know how to swim

Cell phone service is not dependable

The cottage is appointed with vintage features such as the kitchen range from the 1950's, so while it works, you may need to adjust cooking times and techniques from modern day appliances

The area around Chauga River Cottage is special to me. As a little girl I spent time in Oconee County traveling to Chattooga River with my family. While my dad kayaked on the river, I was able to explore the woods and river and grew to love this peaceful corner of SC. Now that I have this cottage in an ideal natural setting, I get to indulge another love of mine which is making a beautiful home. I've spent years antiquing, thrifting, collecting, and sewing, and I've used these honed skills to create a home that is pleasing and comfortable. It brings me great joy to share my home with you and give you the chance to develop a love for this little corner of SC, too.
