Bryan and I (Gwendolyn) bought the Historic home in 2015, I absolutely fell in love with it and the quaint waterfront town. The "Cottage" at the time was being used as a glorified storage shed. However in the past it had been many things, most recently about 2011 it was known as a small little Bar called "The Bee's Nest" then it became a small convenience store. When we first bought the property we did a quick fix up of the cottage and our son and his wife moved in and rented for a while. After buying their first home we were trying to decide what to do with the space. Open another store? Move my gift shop into the space? So Many possibilities, but we finally decided to open it to guest visiting our little town. We wanted to share our love of it with travelers/guest. It is a great little getaway location. Not wanting it to be referred to as the Bee's Nest all the time.(mine you we love a cocktail or two from time to time) We decided to rename the whole property, Gwendolyn's Marigold Manor (Built 1902). ("The Cottage" was a shed/wooden structure as far back as 1920) The cottage did so well and we had to turn people away, we created "The Queen Suite" which is on the second level, front wing of the home. It is a three room Suite and has a kitchenette, so perfect for weekenders. Then Bryan stepped in and said let's create a "King's Quarters", which we did, which is also a three room Suite. Most of our rentals allow your four legged best friend (dogs only) I owned a little gift shop in town, and said to myself, why not move it to the Manor. In 2021 we opened "The Shoppe at the Manor" Carrying gifts/souvenirs and gourmet pantry items. All we feel that our locals and visitors would like to have. We are so happy that we took the time to look at this property, we feel it was meant to be, you see, we came to town to downsize, buy a little condo on the river, we said, ha ha ha. Instead we ended up with this beautiful home, cottage and property. We love our riverfront town and hope that you will too! Gwendolyn

During your stay
We love meeting and greeting our guest, but we have had to limit that in person contact. However know that we care greatly about our guest and want them to enjoy the Manor and our quaint little riverfront town. We are available to communicate by text and phone all the time. We can social distance on the porch if a face to face conversation is needed. Please let us know if you have any questions not only about the unit but the town, things to do, or if you need anything.
