The name “Sundowner” came from Australia about a farmhand’s luck to arrive just in time to have dinner and get his bed for the night, but too late to do any work. - And also to a rare Southern California wind induced by the valley heat; but mostly it celebrates another beautiful day as the sun goes down.

Another lovely and relxing holiday in Glendale.
Fe and John are all you can dream of a host when you are in holiday.
The place is immaculate, help and good tips for making the most of your stay is just a question away.
We are sure this is not the last time we are using this listing.
We can not recommend this place highly enough.
Dear Fe and John thank you for another memorable holiday.
Saro, Tamar, Sipan and Arevik.
A wonderful holiday home! Thank you John and Fe for Making us feel so welcomed and for a lovely stay. Hope you are both well. Zoey says it's her favourite holiday home so far! She says hi and sends hugs and kisses! We would definitely love to stay here again given a chance.
This was my 6th or 7th stay with them (lost count) and it has always been outstanding.
It's almost like a second home for me :)
We loved our stay in Glendale-- quiet, pristine, exotic, and easy access to the 134 Freeway and downtown. Our hosts were friendly and charming without being at all intrusive. When there was a problem with the TV during the Oscars, they warmly invited us watch elsewhere in the compound. The cottage is clean and comfortably furnished, with plenty of room to spread out. The pool's diving board is a step from the front door, which would be even better in summer or a hot day (it is not heated). It was February, and we jumped in anyway. Windows in the cottage face the main residence, so for privacy it can get a little dark, but we soon felt entirely comfortable leaving the shades open. There is a fantastic park nestled into the hills just up the road, with a Moorish-style library, a Japanese teahouse, and interesting trails up to magnificent views of Downtown, Griffith Park, and the distant Santa Monica Mountains.
The space was spotless and extremely comfortable. Both John and Fe were so friendly and helpful in every way. It was pleasure to meet them. We enjoyed our stay, and hope to return in the future. Thank you!
John and Fe were very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in their Sundowner Retreat which was spacious and couldn't be better equipped. The property is lovely and the neighborhood is wonderful. It was hard to leave each day to go sightseeing. Just staying in this beautiful setting would make a glorious vacation.
Great. John and Fe are great talkers and good company. The place was a pleasure to stay at

We are FELOLITA (Fe) and JOHN ANDERSEN, and you are correct: We were not born here but had to travel like you to meet in Southern California, but that was in the last century. So welcome, let us get acquainted; we were both islanders but from far away places.
Fe was born on one of the two thousand inhabited islands in the Philippines (but did not visit them all) and came here to make the most out of life. She is a nurse and works for an international company that tests new products for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
She fled a hot sun and oppressive humidity for a kinder sunny climate, but never from her genuine love of people which we both share. She still loves the water and fresh seafood, but above all life, music, and happy laughter. No wonder she turned into such a wonderful cook par excellence.
John was born in Denmark, developed a taste for traveling early and getting away from a dreary overcast climate. He came to the USA for college and never stopped seeking new horizons. In the process he discovered that language is not just a study course, but something to practice free lance while you meet this big wonderful world of ours, which grew immensely after he parked his childhood shoes. He lived in South America, did international business and visited half of the so called countries, for you must get out if you want to meet the world and develop appreciation. In time he also followed his dream and founded a company in the medical business.
Nothing here is run of the mill. Together we have prepared a comfortable and very private home for you away from home, where you can kick your shoes off and relax in privacy. The pool is large and the sunshine plentiful, and we shall greet you when you come up the longest driveway East of Eden. Welcome to Early California;. - now kick them off.
