Great location
93% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
This is an authentic Federal/Greek Revival Antebellum farm house built in the 1830's. You will have full access to the whole house, which has 3 furnished bedrooms as well as an extra room that could be used as a workspace or an extra bedroom. Entertain yourself with board games in the living room, cooking in the kitchen and conversation over dinner in the dining room . Explore the large scenic yard, relax with a drink, birdwatch and admire the deer that often roam around in the afternoons.

The space
We are located on the Moore-Webb-Holmes Plantation where you can tour the historic grounds and enjoy the wonderful architecture of over 20 farm buildings and nature at its best. My family settled this property in 1819 and is one of the oldest and last active continuous farms in the state of Alabama. We are located in the heart of the Black Belt of Alabama, known for its fertile soil, antebellum architecture, rich culture and birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement.

We are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Other things to note
Bring your bikes and running shoes and enjoy a peaceful ride or run down the county roads that zig-zag through the farm and beyond.

This is a great place for bike and running clubs to get away from the heavy traffic of Birmingham, Montgomery and Tuscaloosa.

There is so much to see and do around the area for all age groups to get in touch with nature, history and a slower pace of life.

We are less than an hour's drive from Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama. Great for football weekends and family and friend retreats.

We are 15 minutes away from the Auburn Rural Studio in Newbern, AL.

A 35 minute drive will take you to historic downtown Selma and the iconic Edmund Pettus Bridge.

We are 10 minutes to Marion's historic downtown square, Marion Military Institute and Judson College.

We are 15 minutes to downtown Greensboro, AL home of the Pie Lab and Project Horseshoe Farm.

Note:
This is an old farm house that makes noises when the wind blows and rattles when it thunders, but they must have done something right because it's been here close to 190 years.
