Dominical is a small beach town, with world-class surf and beautiful sunsets. There are several good restaurants and cafes, decent supermarkets, a bank and a pharmacy. There are a multitude of amazing outdoor experiences, tours and adventures to be had, which we can help arrange. Occasionally there is interesting night life although Dominical is more of a daytime place.
There are plenty of buses and taxis to get around to surrounding areas, and one can walk to everything in Dominical easily from our place. We can help arrange shuttles or transport to get to or from the airport.

I just returned from two weeks at Danyasa Eco Retreat in Dominical, Costa Rica. In my short time on property it became my second home. The property is very intimate and the staff is warm and welcoming. The property itself has a magical energy and the location makes it even more special.
I stayed in "the womb" which is a tiny little single bed room in the back of the property. It was a perfect little zen space for me. The outdoor kitchen was right outside my room as well as the deck. I spent lots of time there sipping tea, socializing, reading, writing, and watching the sunset.
The property owner Brandon was very welcoming and made me feel like apart of the Danyasa family. Alberto, Amanda, Analien, and the rest of the staff were helpful and warm as well. I took a Yoga Class and an Unleash Your Inner Goddess class (burlesque) with Nicole. Both classes were amazing! Nicole is a phenomenal instructor. She is brilliant at talking you into poses and making you feel successful. She is warm, accessible, and very knowledgable.
Dominical is a developing area that is occupied by many transplants from the US and other countries. The business owners and tica's are friendly and helpful. It's a very safe area to visit and there are a number of beautiful sights and excursions within a short distance from the property. I made many friends quickly.
Everything about my stay was perfect with the exception of the on-sight construction that was going on during my stay. I adjusted pretty quickly to it but it would have been nice to know about the construction before my arrival. The construction is about done now so that won't be an issue for you.
I highly recommend the Danyasa experience for those of you looking to have an intimate zen retreat. Its just a few minutes walk to the beach, food, shops, and excursions.
Cool location and sufficient amenities. The host helped make my stay as comfortable as possible.
I had such an amazing experience at Danyasa. The people in Dominical were very friendly, the space was beautiful, safe, and comfortable. My room was so comfortable, clean and made me feel at peace. The kitchen, the hammock, and the yoga studio were my favorite parts. As most people would feel visiting Costa Rica, I could've just lived there forever. As a woman traveling alone, I felt welcomed and overjoyed to meet so many amazing people traveling and doing the same thing I was. I will be back to Danyasa without a doubt. Much love!
Great place right in the middle of the small town of Dominical. Check-in was easy and the room was perfect for my needs. The AC was a plus too.
I didn't utilize the common space but was impressed with the kitchen when being given the tour of the property. Would definitely be back next time I am in Dominical!
Danyasa is a great place, in the center of everything and perfect if you are looking to do some yoga there. Beautiful yoga studio. The room was clean and tidy and the air con is a big plus. The only problem that I have during my stay is the noise as they are building more rooms at the moment and it get really noisy all day. Hopefully this will be over soon and the place will be perfect.
What a cool little town and peaceful little place Brendan has. It smells amazing and so did my room. I was only going to stay one night but I decided to stay another which may turn into three. Needless to say, I like it!
Danyasa is an amazing creation of Brendan and Sofie Thom. They truly represent their way of life in the thought that went into this "community". It is a place for reflection and empowerment.
