We really enjoyed staying here! The location is perfect, and the apartment had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!
We just spent a week in this wonderful apartment. Whether you need a place for 6 nights or 6 months this would be the place to choose.
The fully equipped apartment is better than the pictures show. Jean was easy to correspond with and answered the few questions we had promptly.
The apartment is close to the #11 bus route with a stop 50 feet from the driveway. The St. Charles Street tram line is a six block stroll away. Rouses Market is about 5 blocks away on Tchoupitoulas. There are local restaurants close by and many more a quick bus ride or within walking distance on Magazine street.
Jeanne was a wonderful host. She communicated via text and email, contacting us a few days before our stay with all the information we needed. She responded to our messages very quickly, always with warmth and cheer. Magazine's Secret was a perfect place to stay: very comfortable, soft bed, great kitchen, and in an ideal neighborhood. We had great barbecue just a few steps down the street, and there's a nice little health food store at the end of the block. Tons of restaurants and shops are within an easy and beautiful walk. We really enjoyed walking to Audubon Park on a gorgeous spring morning. The bus stop is right outside, so it's easy to get downtown. Because the unit is at the back of the building, there is not a lot of street noise. A very comfortable, quiet and convenient place. We'll stay there again next time we're in New Orleans!
We had a lovely, relaxing week at Jeanne's condo. The place was better than pictured, and it was really convenient to have a washer/dryer in unit for laundry at the end of the week. Jeanne was easy to reach and responded very quickly to any questions we had, and the condo had all the conveniences of home - right down to spare umbrellas for the afternoon rain showers!
The no. 11 bus stopped right in front of the condo, which was extremely convenient for heading towards the CBD/quarter area, and the condo also had a lot to offer within a short walking distance. We would absolutely stay here on our next visit to New Orleans.
All in all, we had a great stay. The condo was quiet at night (no street noise at all!) and as many previous reviewers said, the bed is super comfortable. Would definitely recommend the condo to anyone looking to stay in this area of town!
The apartment was exactly as described: convenient, quite large and very clean. The location could not be better. We really felt part of this neighborhood we absolutely loved. Highly recommended!
My husband and I stayed at Jeanne's lovely place for 6 nights while I was attending a conference and we enjoyed our stay and our time in NOLA very much. The apartment was as described, charming and characterful, very clean and quiet, and in a great position in a safe, friendly and pleasant neighbourhood. N10 bus stop is in front of the house, and there are several excellent eating/drinking places just steps away (Surrey's Uptown for breakfast and lunch, McClures BBQ for lunch and dinner, Le Bon Temps Roule for music, oysters and bloody marys to go), as well numerous shops, including a great boulangerie and a Rouses supermarket, in close proximity. Jeanne has been great at communicating before and during our stay, and always there with advice and help. We definitely recommend this listing and would happily stay there again.
My wife and I stayed at Jeanne's place for three nights. Her place was very clean and comfortable including the Queen bed. Lots of light great artwork and a nice open kitchen. Plenty of hot water and a modern heat and ac system. Location couldn't be better with so much to offer in walking distance. You'll definitely be first in line at Surrey's across the street in the morning. We'll be back here when we visit my sister. Thanks Jeanne
