Intimate and comfortable room located in the back of our Art Gallery and Art School, this room has an interior private bathroom.
I prefer artists or easy going people. Though the space is not just for artists we prefer them to share our experiences.
An old and big quiet Art space close to downtown, in our place we manage a cultural art center where we have art classes, art exhibitions and movie projections.
Despite being in the city the architecture and tranquility of the place makes you think you're in a village, or if you prefer to be in a town you can check out my other add that is a country house in Sierra Norte 5 hours from Oaxaca city.
Laundry and local market just around the corner. Restaurants, museums and galleries. An important point to move to anywhere in Oaxaca
Interaction with Guests
We love to talk to the guests who wish to share their experiences with different cultures and ours.
We are in a space surrounded by culture, therefore close to us are important centers to visit such as the children's library, the organic market Pochote, the Temple of Santo Domingo and of course to taste on the different restaurants the typical and wonderful food from Oaxaca.
The studio is located in a street that let us move using taxi or buses if you want to leave the city.
Other Things to Note
There is not so much water in Oaxaca and therefore we ask our guests to use just the necessary.
No pets. The visits of friends to the space are from 10 am and 9 pm.
Don't leave your light on while you are not at the room.
Armando was great! He was flexible when our bus ran late and warm and welcoming when he arrived. He provided great tips for things to do and places to go around town -- I even ended up at one of the best live music shows I've seen in years. The location is perfect and the room was spacious and lovely. I especially enjoyed the courtyard area where I could sit and read and eat fruit in the morning when I woke up. Would definitely come back!
Armando was very friendly and welcoming upon on our arrival. The guest room is contained within the art studio property and consists of a private room with bathroom. The room has a rustic charm and beautiful gardens within the compound.
Armando provided a little map with recommended places to eat and visit which was helpful.
Cute place with a lot of charm. We like the rustic traditional feeling of the room. Armando was really welcoming, recommended us a nice bar with live music only a few block away. The city center is very close (less than 10 min walk).
Armando, What a lovely host. From the moment we arrived he was very helpful and charming. He speaks both spanish and english and his knowledge of the city is good. The room was perfect. The ambiance is relaxed. The location is perfect. They have a great little artist community at the Gallery. In fact we bought a linocut from a local artist showing at the gallery. One should definitely take the time to look at the work whilst staying there.
We were at a loose end on New years eve, so Armando took us out to tear the city apart. We Had a great evening. Thank you.
We will be back!!
We loved staying with Armando. He is great host - very warm and relaxed, he made us feel at home from the first moments. The room is rather simple, clean and spacious. No surprises. The neighbourhood is walking distance from historic center (10 minutes?), pretty safe and has plenty of street parking. We hope for the opportunity to stay again!
We had a lovely time staying at Armando's place. It was a great location - an easy walk to the city center, but just far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The room was dark and quiet enough that we got great sleep. We were so busy that we didn't see much of Armando during our stay, but he was very pleasant and helpful when we had questions.
