Intimate and comfortable room located in the back of our Art Gallery and Art School, this room has an interior private bathroom.
I prefer artists or easy going people. Though the space is not just for artists we prefer them to share our experiences.

The space

An old and big quiet Art space close to downtown, in our place we manage a cultural art center where we have art classes, art exhibitions and movie projections. There is no WIFI inside the room and sometimes is weak, that is why the place is not for those that depends on the internet 24 Hours per day. We recommend this place for relaxing.

Despite being in the city the architecture and tranquility of the place makes you think you're in a village, or if you prefer to be in a town you can check out my other add that is a country house in Sierra Norte 5 hours from Oaxaca city.

Guest access

Laundry and local market just around the corner. Restaurants, museums and galleries. An important point to move to anywhere in Oaxaca

Interaction with guests

We love to talk to the guests who wish to share their experiences with different cultures and ours.

Other things to note

There is not so much water in Oaxaca and therefore we ask our guests to use just the necessary.

Armando's room is a small apartment with a shared kitchen. It is quite dark but has two beautiful doors with windows to the court yard that let in lots of light. The location is excellent, you can not any get better than that , you are in the downtown off the best lit street in town but also on the edge of a quiet local neighborhood. We loved to go for coffee at Volator and have drinks and/or light meals at La Popular. Armando is a kind soul. A word of warning to the fussy, the internet does not work in the room and hot water is not always there right when you want it. If you can work around those inconveniences you will be very happy here.

Nice but simple place close to the center of the city. Rooms were really spacious and well decorated. The courtyard area is really pretty.

Armando and his mom were very sweet and accommodated our late arrival. The gallery compound is beautiful and located right in the heart of the colonial district. The room was gorgeous, clean, and very big. Street was very quiet. We hope we will have more time to spend here next time.

My host, Armando, made me feel welcome like a beloved family member. The room was exactly as described, and the location is ideal: close to museums, galleries, restaurants, bus line, taxis, and a local market with fresh produce, juice, prepared food, just around the corner.

Armando and Yari were very gracious hosts. They were very responsive ...they took my reservation on short notice for a short stay and yet provided me with everything I needed. They had great suggestions for local food and sights (such as the Tomas Inn right across the street - tell taxi drivers to take you there when srriving). I can't say enough about the actual property! !t's a beautiful place preserved with the 200 years of history the building has... an experience you have to have to truly enjoy the history of Oaxaca. Its a safe area within walking distance to all the cathedrals and markets. You'll find quaint little coffee shops and restaurants everywhere on your strolls through the neighborhood...

I really loved staying here! I wish I had discovered Armando's art studio earlier! It was a unique experience to be in an art studio / gallery, and the room was great -- clean and with lots of character. The location is superb... close enough to centro, but tucked away from the noise. If I'm back in Oaxaca, I would definitely stay here again. Would love to spend more time in the adorable little garden that is adjacent to the room!

Armando has been a wonderful friend and an amazing host. I appreciate that even though he was busy, he made it a point to show me his favorite places and introduce me to some new friends. Armando is also a very talented artist and if you have interests in the art community, you will very much appreciate staying with him. He was very responsive to any questions or problems I had, and had great advice on what to do in town. The gallery and room is beautiful to boot!
