About this listing
Welcome to Casa del Agave.
We are conveniently located 12 minutes from the airport and downtown. Casa del Agave is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore Anchorage and the surrounding areas.
We have two bedrooms (one bed in each) available that adjoin a private bath and den. The additional bedroom, right next to yours, is available for an additional $25.00/nt. This makes the space perfect for couples or families traveling together. To ensure your comfort and privacy this extra bedroom will only be rented to guests traveling together. Its just the two of us in a dog/cat free house.
The den is equipped with a 46-inch flat screen TV with DVD/Blu-ray, Wii, Amazon streaming video, secure wireless internet and a selection of movies.
There is a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot and tea kettle for your use. We provide your choice of a Kenai breakfast burrito (sausage and egg) or Bad Hunter (egg and potato) breakfast burrito, coffee and tea to get you started in the morning.
The den has a sliding glass door that opens on to a huge deck with lounge chairs to unwind at the end of a busy day.
I will always try to meet you when you first arrive at the house. You will have a code to the front door and can come and go as you please.
Interaction with Guests
Our house is essentially divided into two sections with the entrance being the only common area. The guest area is downstairs, on the ground floor. We live upstairs. You can choose to interact with us as much as you want or not at all.
We enjoy having chats with our guest over a cup of coffee or wine. We are available if guests would like suggestions about things to do and see.
If we don't have evening plans we often like sharing a casual meal.
There are many incredible scenic hiking and biking trails nearby. Downtown Anchorage also offers an array of different activities in summer and winter.
There is a bus stop a few blocks from our house.
No smoking and please leave your shoes at the door.
Our family voted this place as the best among all the places we stayed during our 8-day trip in Alaska. The bedrooms and the living room look much better than the photos on the Website. We all have a good sleep at night. Dave and Diane are well organized and nice to us. They really attend to details, providing everything we need. We can make some easy cooking using the boiler and microwave in the living room. The place is only 12 mins drive to the airport and 7 mins to a big shopping center. BTW, the couple are music fans. Really cool!
This is the place to feel at home when you are travelling. Diane was so kind to pick me up at the RV rental station, our home before staying at Diane and Dave. The same evening we were most welcome to enjoy the food Diane had prepared for some guest who were going to a concert of Mötley Crüe with Dave.
Everything around the room(s) was very well organised and we felt relaxed during our stay. From here it is very convinient to travel to the airport which we did to visit Katmai National Park.
Being travellers it will probably never happen that we return a second time, but should we ever do, we will be back !
Thanks Diane and Dave
It is a nice place and very well decorated. We were able to rest before going to the airport.
Dave is a real cool guy! Friendly, warm and gave me all the information that I needed. He told me where to go for Alaskan brew and for wild caught salmon. Both choices were perfect as they suited our taste. Though she was out at Kodiak Island that weekend, Diane even baked some chocolate chip cookies with a helpful suggestion: Enjoy! scribed on it and asked Dave to offer it to us!
Diane and Dave's place was perfect for two friends traveling between cities in Alaska. We spend one night at their place and found it extremely comfortable and accomodating. We were worried about our late arrival from the airport but Diane and Dave assured us that it would be no problem and provided us with the easy directions to get into the house. The room and area is on the bottom floor and was very private and clean. Highly recommend for your stay in Anchorage. Oh, and the homemade cookies are delicious!
About the Host, Diane & Dave
We are both professionals that have lived and worked and played in Alaska and Anchorage for most of our adult lives.
For the last several years we have traveled extensively and enjoyed staying with Air BnB host along with family homestays. It's been a positive experience for us and we decided to open up our home as well. We enjoy good coffee, sharing food with friends and an occasional glass of locally-brewed beer or wine. We have very good local knowledge to make your stay even more pleasurable. We love all that Alaska has to offer such as biking, hiking, rafting, camping and exploring different parts of this magnificent state.
