Are you excited about coming to San Diego, California, in the pursuit of your dreams? Are you going to UCSD, SDSU or any other university? Looking for easy approval and a safe place to call home? Are you between 20-35 yrs old? Polite, clean, with high EQ and good values?
Let me guess, your ideal place is near to the beach but relatively close to the campus ... and you don't know where to find a great roommate?
Are you a motivated learner? Roommate, look no further!
My roommate is moving back home and this ZEN oasis can be just perfect for you! Would you like to live by the beach in a place that is perfectly peaceful, amicable, and joyous?
-Hi! I'm a young MBA student and professional female, who is seeking to share my "Zen Dream -home by the beach", with a friendly roommate. I moved to San Diego over 13 yrs ago and I've been enjoying meeting people from all over the world -I've traveled to Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa (some places more than a few times). Besides, I've lived with roommates from all over the world: Swiss, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Danish, Ukrainian, Greek, French, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Indian, Saudi-Arabian, Colombian, Brazilian; and the list keeps growing ...
I am very peaceful ... I am studying for my MBA ... I love sharing the house with well-traveled individuals sharing similar interests ... I love culture (I have a Bachelors in Tourism) ... I love being healthy and sharing good values ... on my free time, I help several organizations with fundraising and community activities.
This is the ideal home to chill out, perfect for students who want to study while still enjoy rewards from living by the beach, in a very calm and convenient neighborhood like North Pacific Beach -walking distance from coffee shops, the beach, restaurants, etc. ...
You are this close to be:
LIVING BLOCKS FROM THE BEACH, around friendly and nice people; studying in a very quiet and lovely home; walking and/or biking to the beach to exercise; going out for coffee or food in one of the several nearby coffee shops and restaurants anytime you need a break or sunshine!
BEST SUNSET VIEW of PB: while driving towards the "Zen Dream -home by the beach", you can see the Ocean and the S.D. Bay all together! Have you seen the "Green Flash"? Beautiful view from the Cliff at the end of the street! (Kite-surfing spot)
BEST NIGH LIFE of San Diego: just a few blocks from the main street, you can save lots of money on taxis.
Lifestyle is really important for most of us ... and a friendly environment can certainly make a difference
If you like most of things you've seen here ... and are open to tell me more about yourself ... This might be your chance to experience this like-SPA charming DREAM HOME!

Student/Professional ~I carry both a double degree in Civil Engineering & Architecture and a BA in Tourism. And I'm now working on my Masters. I'm constantly fundraising for charities. I believe in diversity as well as giving back to the community!
*Some of my PERSONAL VIEWS:
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL: I do not use drugs or smoke and I'm looking for a roommate with similar views. I'm a very responsible light drinker (mostly weekend nights), who doesn't bring the party home.
VISITORS: I am not very fond of living in crowded places, besides I work a lot, so please let's both use our common senses as far as having people over. On these occasional situations, when visitors are over, I ask that they respect my space, peacefulness and food.
PETS: I am severely allergic to cats.
NOISE: I praise peacefulness and enjoy having a place of refuge when I come back home. I'm pretty quiet around the house and use my headphones. As you can imagine all the sacrifices one must make when going to school and working, I'm on the computer as late as 10 pm-midnight ... When it comes time to sleep all must be quite.
HOBBIES: I love to travel and learn about different cultures. I am friendly, positive, high energy, and would love a roommate to laugh and bond with. I have lived with people from all over the world!
Long term/short term welcome
If you are International, that's a plus ... I love learning from different cultures!

*HOUSE RULES/PERSONAL VIEWS
DRUGS & ALCOHOL: I do not use drugs or drink much (occasionally on weekend nights I might have a glass of wine or a beer.)
SMOKE: Like most places in California, we do not smoke inside. I'm allergic and I cannot stand the smell. If you smoke, perhaps, you should find a place that's more suitable to you.
VISITORS: I am not very fond of living in crowded places so please don't bring people home. I work hard on weekdays and need to relax on the weekends.
PETS: I am severely allergic to cats and some dogs and cannot share accommodations with them.
NOISE: It is important to me to have a place of refuge to come home to every day. I'm pretty quiet around the house and use my headphones. I have a lot on my plate with work and school and I can work on the computer as late as midnight ... when it comes time to sleep the house must be peaceful (if you know how to properly use a door knob ... you already have a spot in my heart!)
COMMUNICATION: "Communication is a skill that you can learn. It's like riding a bicycle or typing. If you're willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life." -Brian Tracy. Let's be honest with ourselves and communicate (if we're communicating with the intention of love and caring, we can pretty much say anything to each other and improve on the quality of our relationship while living together.)
ACTIVE: I've never lived with a couch potato before and I'm certainly appreciative of people who have their live together. Working/studying hard, being active outdoors and bringing a positive attitude home are the root to a much healthier relationship on a shared environment.
SHOES: We do not wear our shoes inside. That being said, you can roll over on the carpet and literally eat on the floor (oriental style.)
AFTER BEACH: please do not enter, sit on the couch or lay in bed while wet. Hosing down your feet before entering will be extremely appreciated as we do not want sand all over the house.
HEALTH: Ventilation is a major health concern for anyone living this close to the beach. You'll be contributing to this cause by keeping the air flowing as much as possible:
1) Keep the bathroom door and window open after using it or showering;
2) Keep your bedroom door and windows open while not in use, whether you're going out or to the TV/entertainment room.
MAID SERVICES: Although I love a clean home, I'm extremely busy to spend my day cleaning after others. If we are smart we can all pick-up after ourselves and save $100 in weekly cleaning fees.
GIVING BACK: I carry both a double degree in Civil Engineering & Architecture and a BA in Tourism. Recently, I was fundraising $10 thousand for a Breast Cancer Foundation. I believe in diversity as well as giving back to the community!
FUN: I love to travel and learn about different cultures. I am friendly, considerate, positive and would love a roommate to laugh and bond with.
Short Term Welcome
Great experience! I took off to SD on a whim and had the best time! The host is super cool and I feel like we'll be lifelong friends! Close to beach, quiet & safe neighborhood! Would definitely stay here again.
If you want to feel the San Diego Life Style, Pacific Beach is the place to be, and Leticia is a great Host! She really made our stay the best ! The apartment is convenient, 5 min from the Beach...We had a great time.
Thank you Leticia! :)
Truly nice place to stay in PB, the room & apartment looked exactly as in the pictures. Leticia was always happy to give recommendations on what to see or do in the area, or show you around herself / going out, or doing sports together – a really great host! While it was admittedly not the cheapest option to stay at, it was definitely worth it. If you are looking for a place in PB with vicinity to the ocean, this is the place to be.
When Airbnb sent me the link to review Leticia the first thing that came to my mind was "awesome friendship", and the second "awesome apartment". On that note, here is my review: first of all I made a new friend, a real one! A friend that helps me in every situation! Listens to me and figures out how she can help me! She really gives you the best tips for San Diego: where you should go for dinner, sightseeing, entertainment and sun (she knows about some pretty cool hidden beaches!) Besides she will really take the time to get to know you. Needless to say that we spent a lot of time together! Leticia kindly invited me everywhere she went. Not only she made me a local, she immediately introduced me to everyone. Through Leticia you can make so many friends! That's the best that could have ever happened to me ... Best time ever!!!
Second, the apartment: it's just 5 minutes away from the beach! The best location ever! I love the beach and the beach lifestyle, and I made the point to walk there everyday twice a day, for tanning and watching the sunset. Besides it's location to the beach, the apartment is conveniently located to several shops, grocery stores, restaurants, a laundromat (a few steps from her door) and a 24 hrs convenience store called 7-Eleven. The apartment itself was always very clean ... she cares about that very much! And it was very well decorated with cosy furniture, warm colors ... warm atmosphere. Leticia has a great taste! It looks like the house was decorated by an interior designer!! Just look at the pictures! The apartment's rooms, kitchen and bathroom are exactly what they look like on the pictures!
I think you won't need any television here in San Diego but if you do there are 2 huge LCD's in her apartment!!! Perfect to chill on a week night!!!! ...
Ich hatte eine unglaubliche und unvergessliche Zeit dort! Vermisse Leticia sehr und werde Sie bald wieder besuchen:)
After some problems with our original hotel in San Diego we had to look for another place to stay during our road trip, and as we'd always wanted to try a bed and breakfast, our eye fell on Leticia's place. Things needed to move very quickly as we would arrive only a few hours later, and thanks to Leticia's fast communication and flexibility things were settled in a matter of minutes.
Upon arrival Leticia made all effort to get us comfortable, setting up a 3rd sleeping spot in our room and showing us around. The sleeping room is quite large with an amazingly comfortable bed, AC, tv and everything, and is very clean. Her promise that one can eat off the floor was not exaggerated and applies to pretty much her entire place.
The living room is very spacious and cozy with a lot of sofas and pillows and a lovely carpet you can simply lie down and sleep on if you wanted. Furthermore, the room is beautifully decorated with all kinds of things and has a big tv that usually plays zen music, honoring her place's name of Beach Zen Cottage. Relaxing here is amazing: you can sit down pretty much anywhere, have a chat, enjoy some food or a drink and generally have a good time. Heck, you could even perform yoga to go with the zen mode if you wanted!
The house itself is only a couple of minutes away from the beach in an area with some amazing places for food (make sure to try the Fishery!). Everything else there is to see in San Diego is no more than 20-30 minutes away.
As for our stay itself, things can be summarized very simply: Leticia is an amazing host and a fantastic person, making our stay an unforgettable experience. Her warm, caring and playful personality made us feel right at home from the start, allowing us to build a friendship in a new and far away city. Leticia employs the "Mi casa es tu casa" principle: get cozy, make yourself at home and have fun! Furthermore, she helped us out with the practical details of visiting San Diego, showed us the hidden treasures and places the city has to offer and cooked some amazing meals. All in all, we couldn't have asked for more!
In the end it was with a lot of heartfelt pain and a big hug that we continued our journey away from San Diego. In just 5 days we went from entering a city unknown to us to leaving with amazing new friends, an unforgettable experience and a warm and happy feeling whenever San Diego is mentioned. Top notch!
Thanks to the disastrous luck of three warm-hearted Belgium men in booking a hotel ... on July 17, I was awarded with a delightful gift: to host amazingly caring people at my lovely BeachZenCottage in San Diego ... an experience of a lifetime!
I absolutely enjoyed hosting & becoming friends with Michiel, Andy and Tim.
You can't ask for more delightful and appreciative guests to host. Opening up to this kind of people is easy because they measure no efforts to make you feel comfortable around them: as soon as Michiel, Andy and Tim entered the door they showered me with accolades about my BeachZenCottage: "so Zen, ... so spacious ..., so cozy, so well-designed," just to name a few. And let me tell you, they had no problems adjusting to the BeachZenCottage schedules and guidelines because they came well-prepared (yes, they had done all the research they could on my post) and they were in perfect alignment with my vision for our experience together. In the end, everything was almost as exactly the way it was when I first welcomed them to my BeachZenCottage! I can only hope to have such mindfulness guests in the future.
I'm very appreciative of the precious time we spent together, whether visiting places or hanging out at the BeachZenCottage ... chatting on the Zen room, "chillaxing" on the pillows, and listening to the sounds of Zen music and water fountain drops. Thanks to the Comic Con event and all the places they were destined to explore, I was not able to hangout with them as much as I wanted ...
Summarized very simply: Michiel (the Chocaholic DJ), Tim (the Entertainer Actor/Driver) and Andy (The Cute Smeagol) are amazingly respectful guests! In just 5 days of living together, I was able to share an experience of a lifetime! ... and a warm and happy feeling will embrace me whenever I think of Belgium. Top notch trio!
"Minions"/Guys, it was with heartfelt pain that I had to let you go to continue on your journey ...
you know I'll forever hold a place for you in my heart ...
please don't wait a lifetime to give me the honor of hosting you again ...
the BeachZenCottage will be forever yours!!
We were late looking for a place to stay for the 4th of july weekend, everything was busy and to find something was very difficult. But as soon as we came in contact with Leticia (the best host ever), she did everything possible and made it happen. We could stay at her place for 4 nights. She answered our questions always very quickly and very friendly.
As soon as we arrived at the BeachZenCottage everything worked perfect on time, Leticia was there to help us get settled and introduced us to her appartement. It is a very nice appartement with large rooms. It is very clean and we felt comfortable from the first second. Leticia immediately told us about the things going on in Pacific Beach, and where the nice spots are for going out, beach chilling, surfing, shopping, eating, everything. She knows the region very well and does not hesitate to tell the local highlights.
Another plus are the short walking distances to popular places, 5 min to the beach, a few blocks to Garnet Ave. (Main Street), La Jolla. There would also be a public bus a short walk away from the house, which we never used but would be a good opportunity to go anywhere.
Leticia made us feel very comfortable and provided all the time the best service. If you just spend time in the house, there is a very comfortable living room with a cozy sofa and a large tv with many recorded movies. The kitchen is perfect and the bathroom as well. There is no noise around, so you can easily relax and enjoy the place. Leticia will probably also be around if want to do something.
We enjoyed staying there very much and thank Leticia once again for the nice time we had.
Leticia was a wonderful host. She always knew where to go and which sites to see and on several occasion introduced me to new people and places. The house is always tidy. It is a nice place to sit down and unwind after a long day. Cosy, surprisingly quiet for such a vibrant neighbouhood and close to the beach. During my six months staying at het place she has made quite some efforts to improve the place by adding decorations and fixing up some of the interiour. She is constantly working to make her guests feel at home. All in all I can say that Leticia has provided me with a home away from home. Surely you won't be disappointed by her hospitality.
