Mary made me and my family very welcome. The house was great, very cosy with a great fire, and in a great location. The location is very good for exploring Connemara, and Galway is not too far away for things to do when it is raining.
We were 3 senior women traveling on our own. We had never been to the Connemara peninsula before. We loved the view and the cottage layout with 3 private bedrooms. We were even happier with Mary and Martin as hosts. They provided us fire wood and peat by the ton and many helpful hints and ideas. The cottage makes you feel like you have time traveled to 1700 but with all the modern conveniences including washer/ dryer.
Mary's holiday cottage is amazing and the lake behind the house is gorgeous:) We had such an amazing time at the cottage. Mary is such a sweet person, she made us feel home. Mary's husband set up nice fire place before our arrival. The cottage has everything you can possibly need, super clean, cozy bed, fully equipped kitchen, nice living area. We felt so sad on the day of our leaving this beautiful cottage. If you are planning your Ireland trip then you have to come to Island Cottage and meet Mary:) I can't wait to visit again.
Mary is a great host and very accommodating. She also works at a local cafe and is a great cook!
Mary and Martin's cottage by the lake was just as described on airbnb, perfect for a quiet getaway. The cottage was beautifully clean and comfy, heaters in every room, good hot water system and peat for an open fire. The tv worked well and beds were comfy, we loved it
We had a wonderfull time in the cottage! The cottage had absolutely everything we could possible need in a home.
Mary helped us to light up the fire place and she was very welcoming.
We definitely want to come back some day.
Thank you Mary for the great stay!
I am a person who enjoys meeting new people and talking to them. I also enjoy walking and the outdoors.
I love meeting friends for coffee (when time allows).
