Our Brooklyn experience at Ute's loft was pleasant and comfortable. The industrial facade masks the inviting homey interior. Ute provided a wonderful French press to start our days, and a terrific shower and comfortable bed to finish. The proximity to delicious, interesting restaurants and easy access to transportation helped us enjoy our weekend to the fullest!
Ute's place is highly recommendable!
Located in industrial, but trending neighborhood Govanus, very close to green heaven Prospect Park, charming cafe's, breweries and local coffee joints - and even an ice cream shop just around the corner, this clean and cool apt. is a very good choice if you want to experience a hipster hood in the making.
Ute is a kind and helpful host, and very quick to reply to any questions or inquiries you might have.
Ute was friendly, efficient and very accommodating to our arrival and departure times. It was great that we knew she was nearby in case we needed anything, although the apartment was so well-equipped that we didn't have to call on her once. The neighbourhood is unusual (it's really Gowanus rather than Carroll Gardens), and looks rather industrial and rundown at first glance, but we were delighted to discover how many artists live and work there now. We found many nice places to eat and loved going for runs in Prospect Park a mile up the road. It felt like a very vibrant and undiscovered part of New York. The subway was also nearby and getting to Manhattan was very straightforward. We'd definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed the apartment, it was clean and well presented. However, we were a little surprised at just how industrial the local area was - and the building. I know it says that on the website, but it is quite extreme. Any way, the friendliness and helpfulness of the host made up for any rough edges on the accommodation.
Coole Wohnung über einer Autogarage Nahe Kanal in Gowanus. Nächste aufstrebende Gegend zwischen Park Slope und Carroll Gardens. Moderne, geschmackvolle, farblich schöne Einrichtung. Room with view. Ute ist sehr sympathisch und hilft gerne bei Fragen weiter. Gerne wieder.
This is a lovely apartment that perfectly suited our space and location needs. Ute was a responsive and pleasant host who has put a lot of thought and care in to this apartment. It was light and sunny thanks to some big windows, was immaculately clean, nicely furnished and had a comfortable bed and great shower. And it was quiet at night, which was a huge bonus especially in a city like Brooklyn. The neighborhood was somewhat industrial in nature, but we liked that and felt it added to the charm. We did notice some exhaust-like smells during our stay due to the apartment's proximity to an auto repair place, but it was isolated to the weekdays and had more or less dissipated throughout the weekend. This might have been an anomaly as we didn't notice any other reviews mentioning it.

About the Host, Ute
I am originally from Germany and moved from Berlin to New York, working here in the arts for over 7 years now. I love the city, and Brooklyn is the best. I moved to Gowanus from Williamsburg for the variety of the different neighborhoods here (elegant residential and old school industrial without the massive crowds).
