OKC is a rapidly growing metropolitan with many delicious restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities.
Jefferson Park is close to several parks which are within walking distance along with all of the attractions. The older neighborhood is experiencing an expansive amount of redevelopment similar to the remodel which has occurred at my place.
Below is a list of nearby districts and areas which have been wonderfully described by my friend Julia who lists "Eclectic 2 br. in Arts District."
Paseo Arts District: approximately a two minute drive to all of the shops and restaurants. On a nice days you can sit on the various patios and try all the delicious restaurants. Shopping in this area is provided by local artists.
Classen Curve: An 8 minute drive to Classen Curve for some trendy shopping and dining. Republic Gastropub serves a delicious menu. Green Goodies provides treats for the health conscious. On A Whim provides high end shopping. Across the street is Anthropologie and Whole Foods.
Downtown/Bricktown: This area is a 5 minute taxi or car ride away and about a 30 minute walk. You can walk the canal, take a boat ride, eat on one of our wonderful rooftop patios (try Packards downtown!)
Lake Hefner: About 20 minutes away you can walk, ride your bike, run, and have drinks and dinner on the lake. Approximately 9 1/2 miles around the lake.
Public transportation in OKC is generally not much to be desired. If you do not have a car, there are taxis/Uber which can get you anywhere quickly.
Pets are currently not allowed, but I am willing to make exceptions.
Andrews house was great, it was close to family we were visiting and there was enough room for 3 adults and 3 kids. Andrew was always very prompt about getting back to me. It is within walking distance of 3 different playgrounds which we took advantage of with the kids.
My wife and I prefer to stay in a four star accommodation while traveling, and this would be the rating we would give Andrew's home! Upon arriving, we were immediately impressed with the cleanliness of his home. We only used the master bedroom which had an amazingly comfortable bed! Since the other two bedrooms weren't used, we cannot comment on the comfort of these beds, however, the rooms were very nice and would be perfect for a family or group requiring three bedrooms. Also, after a long day of sightseeing and outdoor activities in OKC's hot summer temperatures, we appreciated coming home to a nicely air conditioned home with a family room/den filled with comfortable furniture and a big TV which had a wide variety of channels for viewing. We didn't use the kitchen for preparing any meals, however there was a nice oven/stove and refrigerator. Andrew also has a laundry room with a large washer and dryer which we did use. The area was safe and we enjoyed a daily walk around the neighborhood. When we had any questions, Andrew answered promptly which we really appreciated! We travel at least twice a year to this area, and we will definitely request to stay at Andrew's place again!
Andrew has a wonderful house. It's spacious, clean, and he has good taste in furniture. It was easy getting in and out. The host was very quick with his responses.
The host did a great job of getting back to me with questions and trying to accommodate some of the needs we had with small children.
The layout was great. Everyone complimented how nice the property was and we felt very at home. You are close to everything! This would be just a fun place to stay if you live in OKC and just wanted to go out for the evening. Same some cab fare and have a house!
Andrew's house was very charming. Lots of windows and sunshine! Enough room for our family of five. Location was great. Easy walk to the Paseo Arts District. Even walkable to downtown. We were in town for a wedding. Not far to the airport for pick ups or to the various wedding venues to the north.
We had a great stay. The house was clean, the beds were comfy, and the neighborhood was safe and quiet. The location is great. There are great places to eat nearby. The Asian district has some nice restaurants and Big Truck Taco is a 5 minutes drive. We had to go down to Norman, OK a few times so the easy access to the highway was a plus. Andrew was an excellent host. He was very responsive and flexible.
I arrived late in the night in OKT, but this was no problem for the Check-in. The house looked like the pictures on airbnb. I really loved to stay there during my residence in OKT.
