The space
A comfortable, practical, small bedroom in a 50's Cape Cod style home. The room has a view of the large backyard with old maple trees that were planted by my neighbor in 1958.

You can also enjoy a campfire in the backyard weather permitting.

The bathroom features twin sinks, a large glass block window that brings in natural light and oak cabinets. There are some bath oils and bath salts if you'd care for a soak.

This room has a stylish glass desk with a view of the charming back yard. For your entertainment there is a smart TV with a local media server packed with movies & TV shows. For your convenience there is a fridge and microwave tucked into the closet. There's also a one cup coffee maker with bags of tea and coffee.

If you're the kind of person who prefers things a little quieter but still needs to be near the city, this place is for you.

This home is equipped with central heating and cooling so its one control for the whole house but we can open/close vents in your room if its too hot or cold. The style of the house is Cape Cod which is a very simple box shape to survive harsh winters. Some things like the flooring, trim, doors and vents are original to the house and old.

Guest access
This room is on the main floor of the house. Just down the hall next to your room is the bathroom. The living room is a common area and can be used by guests as well as the back yard. Use of the kitchen isn't included.

If you'd like to use a bike to get around on, please let me know ahead of time and I'll make sure its ready to go.

Other things to note
The house was built in 1959 so its old and full of character. The bedroom size is 10'x9', which is small. If you need a lot of space or have 2 guests, please keep in mind the size of this room. I also have other larger rooms that may be available if you check my other listings.

Location

Saint Michael, Minnesota, United States

This charming neighborhood dates back to the 1860's when German immigrants settled here. The Corner Bar dates back to 1897 and you can still get a drink there today. The Saint Michael church was built in 1890. Some of the homes on this block, including this one, were built in the 1950's when the population was less than 1,000.

There is shopping, dining, bars, coffee shops and a bowling alley within walking distance. My favorite restaurant, a non-profit organization, is The Liberty. The Main Street Farmer is locally owned, sources ingredients locally and slightly more pricey but truly a 4 star restaurant. The BK Taphouse is a new German style beer hall with locally brewed beers and food from local Minnesota farms. This part is Saint Michael is really something to experience because you can still feel the charm from the original German settlers of the 1890's. I think you'll enjoy staying close and dining at these local places more than chain restaurants. If you can't get enough of it, I recommend going to Dehmer's Meats (where BK Taphouse gets their sausages) and taking some home with you.

I try to be a reliable and dependable host. I put my guests needs before my own. I'm a coffee and camping enthusiast. I love art, traveling and learning about foreign cultures. I'm also an AirBNB guest. If I'm booking your AirBNB, it might be because I'm on vacation or just because I enjoy seeing the creativity of other hosts and what they have to offer. I'm very low maintenance and like most guests, I just want a peaceful place to sleep.
