Charming shotgun in the Marigny section of town. Easy 15 min walk to the French Quarter and 3 blocks from the music clubs of Frenchmen St. Fantastic residential neighborhood: safe, quiet side street yet short walk to many restaurants, clubs and amenities. Apartment consists of living room, a basic kitchenette, bathroom, one bedroom with full-size (double, not queen) bed with new firm mattress. High ceilings and hardwood floors. Access to the apartment is through a numeric keypad, so no keys are needed. Two great coffee shops within a 3 minute walk, and a couple more minutes' stroll will bring you to the newly-renovated St. Roch Market, a vast and lovely food hall with oysters, small plates, drinks, wifi and outdoor seating.

A second bedroom can be made available on occasion, generally this is during special event weekends. This bedroom has a queen bed and is separated from the front bedroom by a short hallway with the bathroom between them.

I live next door and am available as needed for information and recommendations.

Rachel's place is beautiful and clean, stocked with just what you need (even a flat iron), and super convenient whether traveling by foot or Lyft. She's super easy to communicate with - as much or little as you like. And she has great recommendations (I became a big fan of The Orange Couch coffee shop, St. Roch's and The Franklin restaurant). The place itself is the perfect location if you're looking to do more than hang with the drunk bros from the Quarter. The Marigny is neighborhood-y and quiet, safe and convenient. And Frenchman's Street, just a short walk away, is so much cooler than any of the tourist traps on Bourbon St. I walked home from Three Muses at 10:30PM by myself and had no concerns. If you're headed to New Orleans for more than getting hammered (I had plenty of adult beverages - the Forager from St. Roch's being day drinking at its finest - but it wasn't the sole focus of the trip), I can't recommend Rachel's place enough. Great host, great 'hood.

Perfect retreat from the crazy of the French Quartet but close enough to stroll back and forth. Neighborhood is beautiful and historic, and so is her home. Rachel had some great recommendations that made my stay even better than planned. I highly recommend a stay here.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Rachel's place in the Marigny. The house is a very short walk to some hip bars in the Marigny and Bywater, as well as the more bustling music venues on Frenchmen Street and the touristy French Quarter. I particularly appreciated that a coffee shop is located at the end of the block, and the St. Roch Market is a 15-minute stroll away; plus taking Highway 10 to Magazine Street was super easy. Check-in was a breeze, and Rachel responded to my messages within minutes. I loved that entry was controlled by a code so we didn't have to worry about keeping up with a key. I also enjoyed interacting with the two friendly cats who hang out on the porch. Since I'm pregnant and tire easily at night, we retreated to the house pretty early each evening and found both the sitting room and bed comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A guest could not hope for better accommodations. The home was private, quiet, well stocked and extremely beautiful and charming, with vintage furniture and interesting touches everywhere. Not right in the madness of the french quarter but about a fifteen minute walk away. This gave us a chance to enjoy a different perspective, since the area did have all the coffee shops and music and bars we needed within three or so blocks. Rachel was attentive to every detail (including two much need umbrellas) and had a folder with all the information that was necessary. Wonderful trip!

What a great area! And the house was just perfect. Rachel offered an entire notebook of recommendations and travel tips. This area (marigny) and Bywater were our favorite areas of the city. Frenchman street was just a 5 minute walk from your doorstep and the music was incredible. Great place all around.

I own and manage an ocean-going tugboat company. I speak French and Spanish reasonably well, and welcome international travellers.
