The house is clean and comfortable. It's in a great location for those looking for an authentic experience and especially for music lovers. Rachel is a responsive and receptive host.
Rachel was an AMAZING host, I highly recommend staying here for your visit to New Orleans! She makes you feel like you're right at home, knows all of the hidden gems, and is the warmest host ever. We will definitely stay with Rachel when we return!
Rachel, was an incredibly friendly and helpful host.
Upon our arrival she suggested a wonderful place for dinner and a new area of town to check out for entertain. Both suggestions were perfect and great new options on our 6th visit to NOLA.
Her home is in a great area of town which was close to all the coffee, food and music you could ever hope to experience.
Rachel was a great host and the apartment was great! The location was perfect - on a quiet block within walking distance to the Quarter with lots of restaurants, cafes, bars and music venues nearby.
The apartment was a comfortable size for two people but the bed was a tight fit for two tall people (in fairness, the bed is clearly labelled as a double/full size in the description).
Unfortunately, the mornings came a little earlier than we hoped when the local rooster woke us up and the blinds/curtains didn't block much light or sound.
We stayed at Maison Mandeville for about 5 days right after Carnival. The apt. is charming, well-appointed, and has thoughtful touches like light groceries (fruit, yogurt, coffee), local weeklies for finding events around town, and plenty of Mardi Gras beads! It's also perfectly located in the Marigny, convenient to about everything.
Rachel was an awesome host - accessible, ready with forgotten supplies, but gave us lots of space and privacy.
Highly recommended, and we hope to visit again!
Rachel and her shotgun home were both awesome! She was the perfect balance of informative and attentive while still allowing her guests privacy. The home was just as described/photographed and my boyfriend and I loved it- very cozy. The neighborhood was also quite nice for exploring and also not too far from Frenchman street and the French Quarter (also worth exploring). Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a genuine New Orleans experience without the hotel aspect of it all!
Great spot, convenient to everything esp. if you're into exploring Marigny/Bywater. During MG season it's block party central for excellent and weird neighborhood krewes (Chewbacchus, 'tit Rex). Rachel keeps the place clean and stocked and is friendly and accommodating. Pay attention to her recommendations - they are all right on. Apartment is great, proximity to Who Dat coffee shop makes mornings easy, bed is snug but very comfortable. Awesome experience.
