Where Industrial meets Zen is the best way to describe this boutique hotel style guest suite. This beautifully appointed studio apartment has a fully equipped custom kitchen and comfortable queen sized bed dressed in crisp white pure cotton linen. The calm and comfortable feel is enhanced by the private shady garden and braai facility. Being only 10 minutes drive from King Shaka (Durban) International Airport makes it an ideal business or traveler stopover or for a relaxed vacation.
The space
The space is an open plan studio apartment with a full kitchen, seating area, sleeping recess and en suite bathroom. Sliding doors open onto the private garden patio where you can sit under the large shady Fig tree and braai on an open fire should you wish.
Guest access
The swimming pool area is available for use by arrangement, particularly if you are staying for a longer period on holiday.
Other things to note
The guest suite is completely private with its own entrance and parking. The parking is behind access controlled gates right next to the suite so easy access. You can come and go as you like without interfering with anyone else on the property. However, should you need help with anything there is always someone close by.
Enjoy a beach front party atmosphere at the Beach Bums Bar or fine dining in some of the finest restaurants on the East Coast in Umdloti or a classic Indian Curry at the Sea Belle Restaurant (Nelson Mandela liked their curries), it is all just a few minutes’ drive away.
For active guests there are a host of activities that can be enjoyed close by. Stand Up Surfing and kite boarding on the lagoon below, spectacular local surf breaks, great fishing and mountain biking on local cane tracks ……all right at your doorstep.
Please note there are cats on the property should you have allergy concerns.

As a kid growing up my parents had a beach cottage at Sheffield Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. This was the glue that held our large family together for the many years to come. Endless days on the beach swimming, surfing, diving and fishing, the things memories are made from. Later I moved to Umdloti Beach, a wonderful small village with incredible beaches and gregarious lifestyle.
I am a keen paddle ski fisherman and Umdloti is a dream section of the ocean to paddle. Over the past year I have landed Queen and King Mackerel, Dorado, Yellow Fin Tuna and Sailfish on my ski directly in front of the apartment I host.
My business is hotel and game lodge development and management. I love people and travel, wildlife, the sea and the mountains, food, cooking and entertaining.
