This property is truly unique; it has a calmness that is hard to find these days. You will feel completely secluded in nature - nestled by towering Redwoods. Expect grazing deer, birdwatch many species...including the White-tailed kite and maybe the protected Marble Murrett) while listening to the babbling brook of the historic Elk River. Remember Julia Butterfly, the activist known for living in a tree for 738 days? Which all happened near by now known as the Headwater Forrest Reserve.

The space
What makes this location ideal is that its 5 miles off Highway 101 and a ten minute drive into town for groceries, restaurants, Old Town Eureka, and great beaches (15 minutes north to Arcata, 25 mins to Moonstone Beach, and Trinidad). Being slightly inland affects the micro climate and most days are sunny and 10 degrees warmer than Eureka proper.

You will drive in and park right next to where you will stay. The entire property is 12 acres but you will have lower field and "The Green Thumb" to yourself! (approx. 8 acers) It's very private and secluded by an island of Redwoods and Willows trees. The structure is a 16' diameter canvas bell tent with a shade awning entryway. Inside you will find a Queen sized bed with fresh linens and towels, small table, and lounge chairs. Solar lighting inside and out. There is NO ONSITE ELECTRICTY. Awesome hot outdoor shower (propane hot water on demand). Small campfires are currently allowed (free stacked firewood onsite) please use adult judgement (never leave small fires unattended, windy days or Cal Fire burn ban conditions). Having a flashlight and headlamp is highly recommended.

Quiet morning, afternoons and nights, Property is located just 1/4 mile from Headwaters Forrest Reserve trailhead. Excellent place for peaceful hiking or dog walks. Safe parking there, break-ins have not been reported for a long time.
