Description

The Space

I moved in to this apartment just couple months ago and got all new furniture. I wasn't sure about renting my room while I am away because of that but I decided to give it a try. Apartment is very spacious and with lot of light. Every room has very nice big windows. The only bad thing is that we don't have elevator and the apartment is on 4th floor. But that could be nice quick work out! :)

Long Island city is pretty new neighborhood. Before I moved here I didn't have very high expectations honestly. I picked it because location is so convenient. But it turned out this neighborhood is absolutely amazing with pretty much everything you need. My favorite part is beautiful view of Manhattan and enjoyable walks by the river. There are plenty of nice bars and restaurants around (with prices lower than in Manhattan) :) Supermarket and few delis are minute away from apartment. In case you get hungry in the middle of the night one of the best diners in the city (Court square diner) is few minutes walk from the place.

Subway stop is literary across the street from building and with those lines you can get pretty much anywhere in the city. First stop in Manhattan is just couple minutes away. There is G train couple minutes away from the apartment which you can use to get to very cool neighborhoods in Brooklyn.

Guest Access

Mi casa es su casa. ;) So you can use kitchen (which is fully equipped), hang out in living room, watch tv (I have cable, Netflix, Apple TV). I'm not often at home but if I'm around, I will be happy to chat with you and give you recommendations on what to do, where to eat etc.

Interaction with Guests

I will interact with you as much as you want that. I'm very sociable and love meeting new people, but if you don't want to talk and need your privacy, I will respect that!

Other Things to Note

I will explain here little more about how to get to my place from main airports and train/bus stops

JFK - from terminal, take air train towards Jamaica (not Howard beach) and get off on last stop. From there take E train, towards Manhattan. My stop is Court square - 23rd street. If it's day time and train runs express it's only 25 minutes ride. Also when you get off the train look for 21st street exit. That's close to the first car of train. And just across the street is my building.

La Guardia airport - best thing to do is take taxi, it won't be expensive because it's short ride. It would take about 15 minutes.

Newark airport - honestly I've never traveled to that airport so I'm not sure how long does it take. But from the airport you will take train to Penn station in Manhattan and from there look for E train, queens bound. And get off on stop Court sq - 23rd street. My building is on 21st street so look for that exit. M

Penn station and Port Authority bus station - both of these have connection to subway. So E train from there towards Queens and get off on Court square -23rd street. Ride is 10 to 15 minutes.

Safe travels!
