About this listing
We are a Green Guest House. We cater to the chemically sensitive, allergic, and/or environmentally concerned guest. We limit toxic environmental exposures by not permitting toxic cleaning agents of any kind. Our main bed has a new organic mattress and our sheets and towels are organic as well. We provide an air filter (if desired), filtered drinking water and even the shower is filtered! We recycle and use resources responsibly. We also provide wired internet access (and a computer!) to minimize EMF exposure.
Our guest house is a one flight walk up. It is an apartment in our 2-family home. So, we are frequently available to answer questions, give directions/advice and even act as "concierge". The space consists of a full kitchen, bathroom with shower and claw foot bathtub, living room with pull out couch & dining table, and a separate sleeping alcove. It is best for 2 people, but can accommodate up to 4 adults.
We are located in the very popular Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope, which was been touted as one of the 10 best neighborhoods the the USA! There are countless restaurants, cafes, clubs, museums, and the famous Prospect Park. Enjoy the amazing Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park Zoo, Brooklyn Academy of Music (aka BAM), and on and on. We are also only 3 blocks from 2 major train lines (R & F) and Manhattan is only a 20 minute train ride away!
Guests are welcome to have friends visit, however large or loud parties are strictly forbidden as this is our home and we have a young child etc.
Interaction with Guests
We greet our guests in person and usually see them on their way in and out. We are available most of the time for questions and assistance. If we have to be away for any length of time, our guests are made aware of that much ahead of time.
Park Slope is an extremely beautiful, safe, and family-friendly neighborhood. There is lots to do and see.
We are located only two and a half blocks from 3 major subway lines, the "F", "R", and "G". There are also buses just half a block away.
Pricing is increased after 2 adults but is negotiable for stays a week or more. Children 12 and under are free.
My family and I had an awesome vacaton!
My wife, my 10-Years-Old son and I spent 30 days in July 2015 at Dani's house and everything was absolutely perfect. Dani is a great host and her apartment is very confortable and better than described in Airbnb. Dani's house is a perfect place for one day one week or on month. We felt lide it was home and we would definitely stay in Dani´s house again on our next vacation in NYC.
We could not have chosen a better host or lodgings for our first airbnb experience. The guest house was perfect for the two of us and is in a wonderful neighborhood. Dani makes it easy for guests to be environmentally conscious, and I really appreciated staying in a space where chemical cleaners and deodorizers are not used. In addition, Dani was a great host. She met us very early in the morning on the day of our arrival so we could leave our bags even though check-in wasn't until later in the day. She also provided some great recommendations for outings and meals.
5 star accommodations. We had such a great time. This apartment place gives your a feeling that its been lived in, not like a standard hotel room. Refrigerator and pantry are equipped with stuff previous tenants left behind. This place is the perfect size for a couple to stay. Park Slope has some amazing restaurants and shops. We recommend the first day you get there to walk down 5th avenue and see what's around. Our favorite restaurants were Stone Park Cafe and Talde. Prospect Park is in walking distance and the Brooklyn Bridge park is a few train stops away. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back.
Second time here. I stayed one wonderful month in Dani's apartment.
Everything was perfect.
The apartment is extremely clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is amazing.
I have just good things to say.
From the moment my husband and I arrived, our host Dani made us feel warmly welcome. She was friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed our conversations with her! Our first floor apartment was comfortable and well equipped and generously supplied with everything to make a traveller feel immediately at home, from organic shampoo to a well stocked pantry. We enjoyed exploring the local neighbourhood, and can vouch for Dani's recommendations: the Green Kitchen for a tasty meal and Cafe Regular for very good coffee. Prospect Park is nearby and a lovely place to stroll during the beautiful spring weather we experienced. Our Park Slope apartment was not only a great place for getting to know Brooklyn, but also a perfect base for seeing the rest of New York, with the subway to Manhattan being just a couple of blocks away. We would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone wanting a great place to stay in Brooklyn/ New York.
We had a wonderful time in Dani's greenhouse. We had everything we needed and it was very close to the subway stop. Bed was comfy and Dani was a pleasure
About the Host, Dani
I live in Brooklyn, NY. I am a fellow Airbnb host, but also work as a forensic social worker in NYC. I have a husband and young child and we love hosting guests and we love Airbnb. We are serious environmentalists, which is why we opened a "green" guest house. We are active members of the Green Party in NY as well.
