Hally was an excellent host! Her communication was clear and helpful and the checkin process was smooth and easy. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in her beautiful home. He place is very well designed with lots of attention to detail. They keep the home very clean and have provided lots of thoughtful amenities. It was a pleasure to chat with Hally and her husband. They are both super friendly and I would highly recommend staying with them!
This was our first time trying Airbnb and we had a great experience thanks to Hally and Micah! Their house is clean and comfortable, they are responsive to email inquiries, and they're warm and friendly. The bottom line: They know what you need, and they provide it. We would stay with Hally and Micah again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the coffee and bagels! You are sincerely appreciated.
I arrived a bit nervous because I am an Airbnb Newbie. Micah greeted me at the door and made me feel comfortable in his home right away. Couple of rules, shoes or boots off right away and lock the door after you go. Ok, got it. Anyway, I left for a while so that Micah could do some yard work and I came back when Hally got home from a meeting. We had wine and they asked me about myself. I told them about my career and then revealed some really personal issues to them. Rather than judging me or getting up and leaving, they listened to me, offered support and gave me advice. It was what I needed. Hally and Micah are ultra-intelligent and clean. I had just finished cleaning my refrigerator as my house, so I stuck my face in to theirs and it smelled like nothing. Not one thing in their home was out of place. They live in the antithesis of a cluttered home. I slept soundly on their comfortable guest bed and woke up feeling happy and refreshed. Their is no reason to avoid booking with them and they should have guests booked every night. If you are questioning whether to stay with them, don't waste your time, just book it. You will not be disappointed. Both Micah and Hally were so quiet in them morning that I did not realize that they had left for their days at work. I sat for about 15 minutes in their living room before I left and just basically downloaded their positive energy. Call me any day from 5-6 pm at (phone number hidden) if you want my opinion of them and the house verbally. Just book with them!
Hally and Micah are the perfect hosts. Their home is beautiful and the room was just what we needed. I really cannot adequately express how lovely it was to stay with them during our short trip to St. Paul for a friend's wedding.
The Room: Our private room and shared bathroom was clean, well-kept, and nicely decorated. During our stay, we were provided with everything we needed including soft towels and basic toiletries (shampoo, shower gel & conditioner). There was even snack food available specifically for guests which was a generous and unexpected surprise!
Hospitality: Staying with Hally and Micah felt like visiting friends. The two of them are incredibly friendly and have a talent for making people feel welcome immediately. During our last night in St. Paul, we didn't have any plans and ended up having an awesome time chatting and hanging out with Hally and Micah in their living room.
Location: The house is only 10 minutes outside the heart of St. Paul and is close to lots of wonderful restaurants and cafes. Our favorite cafe—which is only about 5 minutes—away is Claddagh Coffee & Cafe. Hally recommended the Lavender Latte and it was delicious!
If we make another trip to St. Paul, we will definitely stay with the two of them again.
We were a bit difficult arriving as were unsure of what time we would get there. However Hally was exceptionally helpful, communicated clearly and eventually sent us details as to how to let ourselves in. As her time was almost as over scheduled as ours during our stay, it was as if we had the entire house to ourselves. it's quiet, very conveniently located for St. Paul, fully stocked and supplied. I LOVE midwestern lilac that was blooming everywhere, a special treat, walked to the nearby park and found the riverfront park south of the Wabasha bridge just an easy 5 minute drive away.
Had a great stay with Hally and Micah. They have a nice home, accurately described and conveniently located for a visit to Macalester College (and almost anywhere in St Paul), and they made us feel very welcome. There are actually two private rooms offered on Airbnb, and we used both.
It was a great experience! Hally and her partner are very friendly, welcoming, and down to earth. I felt very welcome in the home, felt totally invite to chat when we ran into one another, but didn't feel like I HAD to be chatty and friendly for fear of offending.
Hally and her partner (I feel bad that I can't remember his name..Mica?) are genuinely interesting folks, so chances are you'll want to hang out and chat. Overall it was absolutely perfect for my needs, the room was comfortable, totally appreciated the coffee and yogurt, and I would definitely book with them again if I ever find myself back in West St. Paul.
Thanks so much!

About the Host, Hally
I am a transplant that came to Minnesota from Colorado by way of Antarctica. My partner, Micah, and I met while working at McMurdo Research Station in Antarctica. We now reside in St. Paul and spend our free time rehabing homes, hosting people, and traveling. We are interested in information and story exchange and would love to hear about your journey to Minnesota and beyond.
