You will find you will not need much for your tropical island vacation. Packing light, layered and with comfortable clothing, swim wear, shoes for hiking, flip flops, sunglasses and skin care is just about all you will need. Sometimes more is never needed it is simply just more to lug around. Keep it simple, easy and you will find you will always fit in like an islander.

Policies

This is a privately owned unit and you are renting directly from the homeowner whose company name is Pacific Condos Kauai. Reservations are therefore non-transferable between other units. You have full use of Pools, Grounds, BBQ's and the parking is at no additional cost.

Check-in and Checkout Times
Check-in time is 3 PM and check out time is 11 am. Please plan your arrival and departure times accordingly. If you need an early check-in or late check out we recommend you consider booking an extra night. This is the time to consider an additional night if you have a late departure flight or early arrival. Please check with us prior to ensure we have not already sold the unit the night of your check out.
Cancelation policy:
All cancellations we follow the unit specific policy of very strick
Unfortunately we cannot control weather. We do not provide refunds for bad weather.
Housekeeping:
All stays have a checkout cleaning arranged at time of booking.
We supply 4 bath towels, 4 wash cloths, 4 hand towels and 2 Beach/Pool towels for your stay.
There is NO daily maid service. If you would like additional towels please add a towel exchange during your stay, we can arrange this for $25. If your stay is 7 days or longer we recommend a interim or full clean to be added to your stay. We keep our nightly rate low so that you can add ala carte based on your own preferences.
There are several hooks in the bathroom to hang your towels for reuse during your stay.
If you would like additional services added prior to your arrival then please email (EMAIL HIDDEN) or if you are on island please arrange with Monica at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). We can either add it to your reservation charge or you can pay Monica directly.
Laundry Mat:
There are several laundry mats near by. Units 132 and 158 do not have onsite laundry available. If you have a bulk of clothing - I would suggest using industrial machines as they dry much quicker and will not damage your clothing due to size limitations. Recommendations - Laundromat Express Address: 4-733 Kuhio Hwy Kapaa HI (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Opens at 7am to 9pm.

WI-FI
If you are bringing your laptop computer with you and want Internet access we provide free WI-FI access in the unit. To access the WI-FI network, connect to the access point listed in unit specifications

In room Amenities:

We provide a reasonable amount of amenities such as toilet paper, facial tissue, bath soap, blow dryer and beach towels for your use. Should you run out, you are responsible for purchasing additional products for the duration of your stay, unless you have an interim clean at which time we will replenish those supplies. If you left something behind there are several stores all within walking distance or a short drive.

Outdoor Amenities:

All units have a shared pool, BBQ's Grounds, Beach access and free parking. Unit 132 and 158 do not have access to onsite laundry, you will need to find alternative arrangements at the local laundry. Monica can replace your towels and sheets for a minimal fee. Pool towels are kept in the unit.

General Policies:
Smoking is strictly prohibited by state law in the unit or on the unit lanai and doing so will result in full loss of security deposit and or a fine. A smoking area is designated by the resort. Resort Security issues a fine for smoking in the units or on the lanais.
**Please remove your trash before departure. This reduces unwanted guests no matter how small. Trash left behind can cause fabric to absorb unwanted odors requiring additional cleaning time to air out the unit.
Before bringing in any beach bags, boxes or beach equipment into the unit please shake them out and quickly remove trash such as grocery bags or boxes as this is how critters (roaches) access our units. There are two plug in Good life pest repellents. Do not remove or shut them off. If you are coming in after staying the night from another location on island please keep in mind that is how "critters" travel - with you:)
Missing beach, bath towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, soft cooler or Tommy Bahamas chairs can result in a charge of $45 each upon check out. So please remember to return them and keep them secured, do not leave them on the Lanai if you are staying on a ground level unit (They have been known to disappear from the beach when left unattended).
Please do not hang anything on the air conditioner as it is against resort policy and will damage the AC (158 and 132 are the only ones with A/C)
Housekeeping staff keeps an inventory list. Please make sure that all linen/towels and pillows remain the same-brand as when you checked in. Any missing or broken items will be charged back to the guest at replacement cost.
There will be a $95.00 charge for any missing pillows or excessively soiled linen. (please pre-treat stains prior to housekeeping visit)
Use remotes to control AC or fans (132 & 158 have a wall switch --MUST be in the on position to have remote fan control). Please shut off AC if slider is open otherwise the AC will freeze up. When leaving condo please set AC at 74 - 76.
**Please remove all lotions, suntan oil etc prior to sitting on furnishing. As it will permanently stain upholstery and bedding and avoids additional charges. There are showers next to the pool, this is a great way to remove lotions and excess sand prior to entering condo.
**Please turn back the white quilt spreads before laying or sitting on top of them will help reduce unwanted stains and makes laundering much easier. We have provided several throw blankets for your use.
If you are not watching TV - units 5 and 203, please cover them in the weatherproof protector provided upon check-in. Salt air is hard on electronics.

Special Considerations:


GUESTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR BEHAVIOR. Violation of the rules can result in fines, and guests are responsible for paying those fines. In severe cases if guests are permanently removed from the condo and from the grounds by the homeowner, property manager, resort management, security or the police. The guest will not be refunded for rent paid for unused nights, even if the guest is prohibited from returning to the property. This is a very peaceful establishment, we ask that you please respect your surroundings and others and will take good care of this unit.

This is an amazing place! we loved every moment we were here. The location is fantastic, it is right on the beach and located mid-island so easy to get to north or south. It has a brilliant pool and hot tub, and snorkels to use. Only thing extra wee would have wanted was a hob, but with all the great fresh fruit and a microwave you can still cook everything you want! I would highly recommend to everyone!

While the location was lovely, be aware there may be parking issues and make sure you get the house manual. This unit is not exclusively managed through AirBNB, so there was some confusion. The snorkeling gear was sandy, damp and smelly - I was certainly not going to use it. There is a lovely beach just steps away, however not good for swimming or snorkeling unless you are a strong swimmer. There is a strong rip current and undertow, and no lifeguard. The sunrises were amazing.

We stayed in Unit 158, which was great! 2 sets of snorkel masks/fins plus extra masks, toaster oven, plates, utensils, binoculars, 2 chairs, and a set of beach towels. The room was very inviting and comfortable. The back patio is super close to the ocean, we loved opening the back door to feel the breeze and hear the ocean. The hotel is centrally located, which is great for exploring different parts of the island. Don't forget to go to the front desk for a parking pass- which is free. We didn't know and got a notice on the car that it would be towed (whoops!). Check in was so simple, Mary just sends a code and you open the door with it each time. No access to the on site laundry, which would be nice but not a huge deal. I would definitely recommend this Unit! The hotel pool/spa is really nice in the evenings as well. We would stay here again in the future!

Unit #158 at Mary's beautiful studio condo at The Islander was beautifully appropriated with everything we needed and wanted for an incredible Kauain vacation. The unit included everything promised and then some, and the very best part of staying there was it was literally 25 steps from the ocean. It was centrally located, close to shopping, conveniently situated from the airport and halfway between the southwest and northeast ends of the island. We'd not hesitate to return in the future. Mary was also great at being available 24/7 if needed but completely hands off if not, and we didn't need anything, so we felt like we had privacy and ease of communication during the booking process. We had a wonderful time at this centrally located, steps from the beach, rental. The condo itself was clean and comfortable with all that you needed and the check-in/check out were simple. Overall would highly recommend this unit to others and would use it again.

This place is very beautiful! It definitely has a resort feel. Air conditioning, optional room service - all that. The communication is handled through email (which is very different than our previous Airbnb experiences) make sure you review that and have access to it when you arrive. Most importantly make sure you are provided with the code to get in prior to arrival. Most of the other rooms on the property are part of the resort. There is a pool/hot tub and bar nearby. The beach is within walking distance (note - there is no ocean view in this room). Even closer is lava lava beach club right out the front door, with breakfast-dinner and it is all delicious! Snorkel gear, beach towels and beach chairs are all provided. You wouldn't need to rent a car but we highly recommend it for great hiking and secret beaches!

We stayed in Mary's studio condos for a total of 14 days. We were in the first one with a beach view for 10 days and the other a beachfront for 4 days. We enjoyed both of them a lot. We never met Mary and didn't need to, but there was a good amount of communication, especially before our arrival so we knew what to expect. The amenities included beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, and a beach umbrella in one of the units. Both condos are located just south of Kapa'a; this enabled us to be centrally located on Kauai to experience many things on the island. This was my wife's and my first Airbnb experience, and we recommend these studios a lot.
