You are getting a private room and your own eating area in an apartment with 2 rooms-both rented to travelers. The maximum amount of people you will be sharing the apartment with is 2 people more. We run this as a hostel so please don't expect us to hold your hand and show you around. Maps, list with useful tips, wifi code and directions provided. This place is in North Bergen, NJ - closer to Times Square than if you were staying in Queens or Brooklyn. The room is very spacy with a queen size bed, we provide you with clean sheets, towels, safe, wifi, 42in plasma TV in bedroom with cable, sunny room with street window, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, maps, guides, bus schedules and a very friendly older couple (my parents) that lives upstairs anything important you need. Your floor has an independent entrance from the owners floor. This ROOM is rented to travelers only - it is not a private apartment, just a private room - please if you need extra privacy try a hotel and if you need a kitchen rent an apartment. Guests have their own eating area with the amenities shown in the pictures: table with 2 chairs, refrigerator an microwave. Bathroom is shared with the 2 guests staying in the other room. ***We don't allow "surprise guests" - only those in reservation. ***Non smoking house. Street Parking - we provide you with the "resident's permit" to park free on the street.
Interaction with Guests
My parents own this property, they are an older couple that lives in the upstairs apartment - but the floor where the available room is has its own entrance, independent from upstairs- anything you need they are very hospitable and welcoming.
There are plenty of restaurants and stores walking distance. When you arrive we have a list of tips on what to do and where to go, in NY and in our town so you can enjoy your trip!
There are many bus lines that take you directly to Manhattan in less than 15 minutes a few blocks from the house. You can even take a ferry is you want to enjoy the NYC skyline view and take amazing pics.
Other Things to Note
From the Newark airport, you can take a bus or a $40 cab to the house. From LaGuardia or JFK take a subway to Port Authority (Times Square) and there you take bus 127 - our stop is the 3rd one, super close!
IMPORTANT: anything outside you room has to remain neat and organized - keep your belonging in your room and keep in mind that the apartment is shared, therefore, you need to keep the visible areas looking pretty so when people pass by don't feel uncomfortable. We provide towels and place them in your room. We keep every corner of the apartment spotless clean and we ask you to place your unwanted items in the garbage containers. For stays longer than 2 weeks, we can arrange for you to use the laundry facilities at the property. When you leave, please leave the keys on top of your dinning room area.
This place is perfect, we had an amazing time and Cloudya and her family were so nice with us! Thank you very much again!
We pass a great time !!, The room was so good and the apartment was clean and the best was near from Manhattan, like 15 minutes, the apartment is located in safe place.
We didn't meet with Cloudya but Blanca her mother was a great person, she is a very helpful person.
Definitively i recommend !!
Thanks Blanca and Cloudya
Gracias Blanca and Cloudya
The place was exactly as described.
To get to the bus to go to New York you have to walk two blocks, but up hill, so it's not for people with any handicap or physical ailments. The bus takes exactly 15 to 20 minutes and leaves you at Port Authority (Time Square)
The place was clean, the bed was great (thanks for that, very appreciated after a long days walk), bathroom even though is shared is very clean and comfy.
There is a little fridge, microwave, water heater, electric oven (one for each room - there are two)
Over all a great experience, Blanca (Claudya's mother) is so sweet, always worried about details, gave us daily passes to park our car in front of her house.
I would definitely go back in case I visited NY again!!!
La habitación es acogedora y limpia.
Puedes tomar multitud de buses para ir a Manhattan, una vez aprendes donde.
Los padres de Clodya, son muy hospitalaros y nos ayudaron mucho.

I am an international correspondent and since I live 11 months of the year abroad, I decided to rent my apartment in my parents building in order to cover my expenses.
We are originally from Uruguay (South America) and we bought this property a couple of years ago. We have renovated the house completely and it looks new.
We have 2 listings but for some reason this one is not getting the traction that the other one has and I would love to get some help.
