Welcome to the Howse! A charming, open, airy house located in downtown Bloomington's historic Prospect Hill neighborhood. With original hardwood floors, mint colored walls and lots of light, you can't help but feel happy and cozy here. Centrally located, you're within walking distance to the B-Line (.25), downtown (.5), and IU (1.0). Stroll through the farmers market, cheer at an IU game, or eat at a downtown restaurant with family and friends. Relax, you're home.

The space
I love sharing my house - my parents stay here the most - and I am delighted you are here for awhile! My house is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing, while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in town. It is located on a quiet side street in historic Prospect Hill. (On the map, it might look like we are on a larger street (2nd Street), but we are indeed on a quiet little street.)

Our little Howse was built around 1900 and is full of charm and quirks! The common space (kitchen, living, dining) is open and bright. The kitchen has a gas range and a dishwasher. Both bedrooms are sunny and cozy, one with a king bed, the other with a queen bed. There is one full bath with a tub/shower combo. The second bathroom is a full bathroom, but with tub only (no shower).

We have many smart home amenities, including wifi, a Nest thermostat, and a Yale lock (keyless entry into the house). You can easily come and go without having to worry about keys.

We work hard to be environmentally friendly. We use cloth napkins, dish towels, and have energy-smart appliances. Please turn lights off and adjust the thermostat when you aren't in the house.

There is an older smart TV in the living room (no cable) that lets you stream your favorite subscriptions. There is also a computer monitor in the back bedroom to make it easier to work remotely here.

The house is one level. Outside, guests must climb a few stairs to get from the sidewalk into the house. In the photo with the front of the house, you can see the 2 stairs to the porch.

Parking is on the street and readily available.

Other things to note
My house meets safety requirements for long-term rentals in Bloomington, including: All windows and doors open, close, and lock; smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are in required locations (bedrooms, basement, and a central location); and there is a fire extinguisher in the pantry.
