Lots to do nearby

Guests say this area has plenty to explore.
Simple, cozy 2 BR 1 BA home that is set back slightly from the road, next to the woods, and only a five minute walk to downtown North Conway - the best of both worlds! On a private road; plenty of parking in driveway. Minutes away from anything and everything! Relax on the deck and watch the resident chipmunks, squirrels, and birds, or kick back by the fireplace and take in the winter wonderland around you. Marvel at the sky full of stars at night. Escape to the mountains and feel right at home!

The space
Rustic, homely decor complete with homemade quilts hand-sewn by my grandmother. One bedroom has a queen bed; the basement bedroom has bunk beds: twin, full and twin trundle; the plush futon in the living room folds into a full bed. Updated kitchen. Lots of space to relax in the yard in the adirondack chairs or in the hammock in the summer time. Enjoy the Conway train as it passes by the house, walking/X-country ski trails at Whitaker Woods just outside your door, and hill in the front yard perfect for sledding! For those who like to stay connected on vacation, the house has a smart TV, wifi, and a bluetooth speaker.

Guest access
The entire house is accessible except for the master bedroom on the main level and the storage unit in the basement.

Other things to note
There seems to be a variety of expectation of noise level, so I want to be extra clear in noting :) there is also a dirt road and hill leading to house so want to be clear on access.

For the noise level...
Traffic: though my house is next to the woods you can hear the traffic on Rt 16 if you are outside of the house or if you are inside and have the windows open. You cannot hear traffic in the house if the windows are closed.

Train: the scenic train passes right by the house. It runs Apr-Dec. On peak weekends, the earliest train starts around 9:30am and runs every hour-hour and half (depending on demand) and the last train returns around 8pm. Weekdays the train runs less frequently. You will hear the train for a minute (whether you’re inside or outside of the house) as it passes by the house, both as it heads out of town and as it returns to the depot.

For the dirt road and hill:
It’s recommended you have an SUV of some sort (doesn’t have to be 4WD). A sedan will work fine assuming conditions are fine, but it is the mountains! There is a hill going down the road and then a hill going up to the house. The road can be snowy in the winter if the plow hasn’t gone by recently or if it’s icy. In the non-winter months, there’s a chance for some erosion given it’s a dirt and gravel road. My neighbors and I maintain the road often but weather takes its course and it’s a small town so things don’t get done overnight. Plows come regularly (every 6 inches or so of snow that falls); they also sand the road regularly and come to repair any erosion.

I love the outdoors and try to balance work with play. I work at a nonprofit and love the idea that hopefully somehow I’m giving back to the world, even in the slightest of ways. I love traveling and listening to the stories of people I meet along the way. My properties in North Conway, NH and on Padre Island, TX are my happy places where I split my time, spending a lot of “me time” enjoying nature. I’m excited to share my places with guests! I’m a non smoker and respect and treat other people’s house as if it were my own and hope my guests will do the same!
