  • I had a very lovely stay with Anne and her husband John. It was my first time travelling around by myself and Anne made my visit so wonderful! She picked me up at the train station and made me dinner the evening I arrived. She offered to drive me anywhere around town and recommended great things for me to do. I had a great time staying with Anne!

  • This superb b&b has made our holiday to Dublin complete. Anne and John welcomed us into their lovely home and gave us tips for the best locations to visit and the best pubs and restaurants to dine in - all of which helped us experience Ireland to the full.

Anne's breakfast was delicious and we were free to choose the best time to eat according to our planned trip each day. Their home and rooms are just beautiful, clean and always tidy - we even had our own bathroom fully equipped with a bath and shower. She also had fresh flowers in each of our rooms and she even provided amazing home made cookies every day!!

The house is located in the quiet fishing village of Howth which is only a 20-minute drive from Dublin Airport and 15-minutes from Dublin City Centre. We will definitely be returning to Anne and John's home on our next visit to Ireland and would recommend it to everyone visiting Dublin!!

  • We stayed with Anne and John for three nights. They are both great hosts, and we were made feel that their home was our home
The breakfast was one of the best we ever had, with a menu which would put Claridges of London to shame!!
There were plenty of lovely touches in their home, with candles and flowers in abundance.

Many thanks to our fabulous hosts.

  • For end of October my husband and I had booked a bed and breakfast stay at Ann and John’s. They were such fantastic and loving, kind hosts that it was truly hard saying goodbye. Each and every day started with a vast and delicious breakfast; Ann anticipated our every wish. The lovingly decorated and charming house offered a very special and pleasant atmosphere. Also with regards to the cultural and daily planning of our stay in Dublin, Ann and John helped us with many interesting and highly appreciated hints and tips. This allowed us to discover Dublin not only from a point of view of a tourist, but also through the eyes of a local.
Both, my husband and I, left Dublin with the feeling of having made new friends ! Reni & Engelbert

  • Anne greeted me warmly even before I left Australia. I was looking for somewhere that could accommodate both myself and my mother who has recently recovered from a serious illness. This lady really is someone very special. Mum and I were greeted at the airport by Anne and stayed with her and her husband John for four nights. It truly was a home away from home. We were made to feel so welcome and sharing a delicious breakfast made by Anne each morning was a real treat. She gave us lots of good information on where to go and what to see, then gave us a lift to the train station each day. Her beautiful home, kind and caring demeanor, and gracious hospitality was greatly appreciated and will stay with us long after we return to Australia. Bravo Anne!

  • Our family consisting of 4 adults and 2 kids stayed with Anne & John for 4 nights in July 2013. We were met and transported by this wonderful and pleasant couple to their home, where we enjoyed their gracious and warm hospitality.
Right from the start, we felt welcomed. They have a spacious 4 bedroom home, with a bathroom upstairs and a 1/2 bath down. There was a nice family room on the front of the house. We sat out in the back yard a few times, which was very nice, they had a fish pond, where Anne let the kids feed the fish.
Anne prepared us a full Irish breakfast every morning, complete with juice and coffee. The porridge with the Irish liqueur was a real treat!
We walked to Howth which was a short distance away. The home is also close to the Dublin airport, a short ride to central Dublin by DART ( which is an electric trolley ). There are also several beaches nearby.
Anne and John gave us several suggestions for places to visit and also restaurants to eat at.

  • Anne, her husband John, and their daughter, Rischelle, made me feel as if I was part of their family. They are kind, gracious, and to be honest, I did not want to leave. I could have hung out with them all day, every day. The town they live near is so beautiful, with a great pub (O'Connells), great restaurants (make reservations!), the best ice cream shop and a view of the Dublin Bay that is breathtaking. Anne dropped me off at the DART station when I wanted to go into Dublin, but I wish now that I spent a bit more time in Howth.

My room was the twin room. I slept in the bed nearest the window, and it was so cozy. It was immaculate, and Anne provided me with coffee, tea, and biscuits in my room on top of the most delicious Irish breakfast I have ever had. Her fruit, yogurt, meusli creation is out of this world, served up with care and warmth. The Drumgoole house envelops you with its overflowing kindness and happiness, and when you are there, you know you are in a special place. Anne's garden is gorgeous and would be the most perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day, when the sun is out.

Words cannot adequately describe the warmth and gratitude I feel for the Drumgoole family. When I arrived in Dublin, I was stressed and exhausted from the first part of my trip. Anne was truly an angel sent from the heavens to comfort me. She and John made me feel so cared for and welcome in her home, and meeting their daughter was the icing on the cake. Rischelle went out of her way to set up some special things for me to do and recommended lunch at the National Gallery of Ireland, which was delicious.

My last day in Dublin, I spent with Anne. She took me to a farmer's market, and at my request, to some antique and flea markets where I not only met the nicest people, but got some great deals too. She then took me to Malayhide Castle, with its delicious restaurant, and cute shop. My trip to Ireland was perfect because of the Drumgoole's, and I could not recommend them more. I can only hope and pray it is meant to be that we meet again.

  • Anne was a very friendly host even before we arrived at her beautiful place. She replied to all my requests in a very nice manner and I was very grateful, that she picked me and my friends up at the airport for a little fee. Anne and her husband John made us feel at home the very first night when they sat down with us for a cup of tea.
Anne's breakfast is absolutely delicious and you have a selection of food you can chose from. The rooms where nice, bright, clean and pleasently furnished with a bathroom just next door. There are maps and brochures in the rooms that where really helpful. On the whole, it was a short but delightful stay and I'm sure I will stay wih Anne again.

  • After our first flight to Dublin was cancelled and we lost a whole day, we couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome when we finally got there. Anne and her husband where more than perfect hosts, they made us feel like family in a matter of minutes. They succeeded to make this trip the best experience we could have had, and I can only recommend Annes home for anybody to stay. I'll will be back :)

    Response from Anne:

Thanks so.much for your very kind review Silvia . You and the girls were so nice, it was a pleasure to look after you all. It was unfortunate you missed St. Patrick's Day and that the weather was so cold during your visit,. I therefore think you will just have to come back again next year, John and would love to have you. Potential hosts would be very lucky to have you and your friends, as you were so warm, friendly and appreciative. John and I wish you all the best of luck.

  • We had a great stay from beginning to end. We were picked up at the airport and greeted by Anne which was lovely. We were spoilt with lovingly cooked 3 course breakfast each morning and dropped off and picked up at the train station on our trips to and from the centre of Dublin.

Anne and John have gone to a lot of effort to ensure their guests have an enjoyable stay. The rooms are comfortable and have been newly painted and decorated.

We had a fantastic weekend and enjoyed a scenic drive through Howth on the way back to the airport. We would highly recommend staying with Anne.

Interior Designer
Hi, I'm Anne and I'm a very friendly and outgoing person. I 'm very open minded and love to try new things. I'm an Interior Designer and really love my work, and have travelled abroad on work projects. I love to visit markets, antique fairs, and buy old furniture. I paint and distress them and really enjoy it. I read a lot, and am a regular movie goer , and I love travelling, and have been to many countries. and also enjoy cruising, since I won our first cruise in a slogan competition ten years ago. I believe personality, fun and a strong sense that nothing is so precious that you can't relax, is fundamental to being a successful host.
