I had a fantastic time staying with Kathryn. I instantly felt at home, and shared many enjoyable conversations over the course of my stay. Kathryn's warmth and intelligence is reflected in the feeling of her home and space (great books!). The guest bedroom and bedding is comfortable, decor simple and tasteful. The kitchen is fully stocked and Kathryn shared her wonderful tea collection. As described, the apartment gets wonderful sunlight, and a window in the bedroom provided nice air for sleeping. The neighborhood is charming - filled with brownstones and tree-lined streets. Smith Street, just a couple blocks away has great restaurants, boutiques, and coffee shops. I would love to stay again in the future!
I totally recommend Kathryn's place!
I immediately felt at home and very welcomed when I arrived. The pictures are really truthful, the apartement is very sunny, cosy, clean and peaceful. It is perfectly located not far from all the best spots in Brooklyn, but on a very quiet, tree-lined street.
The bedroom on the back of the apartement is very comfortable and calm.
Kathryn is a very nice host, we had lots of interesting chats and shared some meals together.
At the same time, she is very respectful and totally respects the need for privacy.
Do not hesitate to contact Kathryn.
Kathryn's home is really lovely and I felt very welcome and at home there. The room (and the whole apartment) is very light and calm. The neighborhood is fantastic, very close to lots of great places in Brooklyn and only a very quick 20 minute subway ride to downtown Manhattan. Kathryn is a fantastic host and I really enjoyed our chats.
The room and the entire place is really comfortable and clean, and has basically everything you need (including a very strong wifi connection). The only thing to know is that the bed is on the smaller side. It totally wasn't a big deal but if you're a taller/larger person it's just something to be aware of.
Overall, I really recommend Kathryn's place!
I spent only one night in Kathryn's house. The house and the room are very pretty and cozy. The neighborhood is very pleasant. I had not much time but I had an interesting and friendly conversation with Kathryn.
Thank you so much Kathryn

Kathryn was a great hostess, making me feel welcome and comfortable. She was generous with her time, offering to help with navigating the neighborhood and suggesting good ways to take care of the errands I needed to run during my stay. In addition she was just fun to chat with. After this visit I feel like I have a much better feel for what it's like to actually live in Brooklyn, and that would not have happened if I stayed in a hotel.
The apartment was, as described, very sunny and cheerful, with lots of light. The unexpected bonus was that the neighborhood was very quiet in the morning, and sleeping was very comfortable. The neighborhood has several nice cafes and small stores for groceries and incidentals. I'd like to return some time, this was a great spot for me.
I am a passionate about food and wine, love sharing ideas and itineraries with friends and family about seeing New York and Brooklyn's undersides and am always trying to strategize my own next trip! I love the beach, working for myself as a communication and organizational development consultant, and think the world is a better place with airbnb in it.
