Ideal place for a good rest among wild nature with lots of fascinating animals. Close to the sea. Swiss owners are well organised. helpful and friendly.
We really enjoyed our stay in Monica's cozy cabin. It's like sleeping in a botanical garden! You can watch hummingbirds from the outdoor-kitchen-porch, you wake up to the sounds of howlermonkeys and the welcoming is very warm. Lovely!
It was just the best place we ever stayed. The cabina with your own veranda give you the chance to enjoy the nature and be a part of it. Behind your house climb the monkeys in front of you fly the birds and butterfly's. We spend a lot of time to hang around in our hammock and listen to the junglesound. Chris has a big knowledge about the animals who lives there and you can ask every question you have. The cabina was also clean and comfortable with a own kitchen and really big kingsize-bed. Only few minutes to walk you reach the nationalpark and the beach. But also the small and lazy village of cahuita with friendly and helpful people. We was very surprised about the feeling at this place and we already miss that. We hope that we come back for a new stay and to enjoy the nature on this way again.
Monica's secret is the loving attention to detail - from the decoration to the great big bed - but especially her poetic, well-kept garden with a great variety of pretty, well-chosen trees and flowers which are designed to attract so many different animal species from the (nearby) jungle. After our trip through Costa Rica and Panama we finally came in close contact to capuchins and howling monkeys, and the sounds of the animal kingdom were just heavenly! .... Monica's other secret is Chris - he is very knowledgeable about flora and fauna and pointed us to a lot of the wild life around us. He was also super approachable. There was no working a/c which we did not need while the huge mosquito net came very handy. It is not the cheapest abode in Cahuita but very clean and looked-after, and we felt we had found one of the best accommodations!!
Our stay here was super sweet! Directions were good. Chris was a great host. Didn't get to meet Monica because she was out of town, but she was very responsive through email and texts. This place is a gem! From the King size bed, to the open living space, to the monkeys that are all over the trees! Good location if you want to be away from the party scene of Puerto Viejo and yet it's just a short drive to PV or you can walk or bike into the sleepy little town of Cahuita. Chillin spot. Great people. Loved it!
We really enjoyed our stay at the yellow cabin. The location is amazing. We didn't realize how central it is to town, the beach, and the bus stop (5 min from each). We saw more animals in the yard here than we had throughout our travels in Costa Rica! We just wish we could have stayed there longer (it was all booked up!)

I'm from Switzerland living here for nearly 10 years. I like it very much when my guests are happy here. I enjoy explaining them our beautiful nature and recommend the really good tours with the right people. My people here are safe and protected and can enjoy there holidays reading in the hammock or chilling on the porch.
