Bright, clean island style studio apartment one block from beautiful Kailua beach. The large studio is attached but separate from the main house with a private entrance inside the beautiful walled in yard. While the unit is separate, we offer use of the full kitchen and laundry room in the main house and access to all the outdoor seating areas, bbq grill, outdoor shower and the tiki bar.
The sunny studio has a private bath with a shower, a queen size bed, sitting area and living area with a futon couch which offers additional sleeping space. There is a mini refrig, microwave, WiFi and Direct TV with movie channels in the unit.
Just bring your suitcases - we even loan out our towles, beach toys and chairs! One guest told me we were 336 steps from one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Our quiet neighborhood, tropical nights and the trade winds make evenings outside extremely pleasant, too. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses; their just outside the studio entrance along with lots of flowers and tropical plants.
Sadly, we had a major water leak in November and had to cancel a reservation, but the bathroom is now beautifully remodeled! It's a lovely spa like bathroom with a shower/tub.
We have two very friendly dogs. Our mini dachshund Maddie will make sure you always feel safe and her pal Lilly is in charge of sharing love and being always happy to see you!
We'd love to share our piece of paradise in Kailua with you!
No smoking in unit; smoking on property permitted.
Have fun and make yourself at home!
We had a lovely 4 day stay in Kailua at Beth and John's place. It is a fantastic location; walk to the beach, the center of town. You can survive without a car, if you don't want to pay rental fees.
The room is clean, well organised, Etc. You are well taken care of.
If you love dogs, highly recommended!
The room is very nice and spacious. The location of the house is ideal and the close by beach is just beautiful!
The studio was exactly as pictured on the Airbnb site. We were immediately welcomed by Beth and made to feel at home. Both Beth and John went out of their way to provide us with information that would make our visit more enjoyable. We loved the location with it's close proximity to a wonderful beach. We would definitely recommend this location to our friends and relatives.
Beth made us most welcome. Morning special baked goods and coffee were great. Very comfortable bed. Her dogs are the sweetest. The outside area to sit and enjoy the sun was pleasant. It was really nice to be close enough to walk to the beach and to walk into Kailua. We'd be happy to recommend staying here.
We loved staying at Beths home! She kindly arranged for her husband to pick us up from the Airport which was convenient for us. The room was even better than I thought it was going to be. So clean and comfortable with everything we needed including a mini bar. It was also great to have a couch to lounge on. The bed is super comfortable so we slept really well every night. One day Beth made us some yummy cup cakes for breakfast which was a treat. We also used their kitchen to make our own breakfast which was so nice after 5 weeks of having to eat out. Her place is so close to a beautiful beach which we went to everyday. The town is also very close which was very convenient for us as we didn't have a car. We walked to Buzz's restaurant twice as the food was fabulous. I highly recommend staying at Beth's place. We wish we were still there!
We had a wonderful stay at Beth's place. It's a quick walk to a gorgeous beach. We watched the sunrise and swam every day. The room is nice, comfortable and clean. The shared outdoor tiki bar space was an added bonus and we ate breakfast outside every day. Beth and her husband were very welcoming and their dogs were sweet. Beth loves where she lives and the Kailua community and seems excited to share that with guests. The other guests were nice to chat with too. They had beach and water toys to borrow and a pack and play available for our baby which made the trip so much easier. I would love to stay there again when we come back.
After attending a conference at a fancy schmancy Waikiki hotel, a friend and I happily headed to Beth and John's "piece of paradise" in Kailua, where we spent five glorious days. We were surprised to find out we couldn't take our small carry-on bags on TheBus as we had planned, but John was able to pick us up at our hotel for a super reasonable fee. Beth warmly greeted us on our arrival. The accommodations were almost exactly as described: super comfortable bed and futon in a clean, spacious studio with a large, modern, private bath. The safe, quiet, residential neighborhood, a 5-minute walk from a gorgeous beach and 15 minutes from town, was just what we wanted! With rented bikes from The Bike Shop nearby and public transportation on TheBus for a day trip to Hanauma Bay to snorkel, we never missed not having a car. Each morning we had our coffee and breakfast, which included a variety of Beth's fresh-baked muffins, in the beautiful walled garden. My profile pic was taken in the garden right outside our door! The company of their two sweet dogs made our stay even better. One feature of the accommodations that was not a problem for us but is something to be aware of is that the wall between the bedroom and bathroom, shown in picture 1/50, does not go all the way to the ceiling, clearly for practical reasons of airflow and temperature. The toilet is on the other side of the wall behind the lamp next to the bed, which might make middle-of-the-night bathroom use a problem for a light sleeper! There are two small inaccuracies in the description: no "microwave in the unit" (the one thing we commented on wishing we had in the room) and use of an outside coin-operated washing machine, which worked fine, rather than "the laundry room in the main house." The only communication problem we had was due to a bug in the email program. Beth did not receive my direct email replies despite the message, "Respond to Beth by replying directly to this email." All our communications via the website and phone/text were prompt, clear, and friendly! This was our first airbnb experience, and we're delighted to have found such a lovely place to stay at a great price with wonderful, gracious hosts!

I am one of the luckiest women around. I live in a beautiful spacious home in Kailua, Hawaii, one block from the beach, with my awesome husband John and our two very friendly and spoiled dogs. We are recent empty nesters with two exceptional kids!John and I love to "talk story" (the Hawaiian slang term for chatting) with interesting people, spending time together at the beach and watching basketball and football - we're University of Arizona and Arizona Cardinals fans! I spend my free time in my garden, reading great books, hiking or walking the beach with my dogs, and baking/cooking yummy things.
Kailua is a lovely town. I'd love to share our piece of paradise with you!
