About this listing
Bright, clean island style studio apartment one block from beautiful Kailua beach. The large studio is attached but separate from the main house with a private entrance inside the beautiful walled in yard. While the unit is separate, we offer use of the full kitchen and laundry room in the main house and access to all the outdoor seating areas, bbq grill, outdoor shower and the tiki bar.
The sunny studio has a private bath with a shower, a queen size bed, sitting area and living area with a futon couch which offers additional sleeping space. There is a mini refrig, microwave, WiFi and Direct TV with movie channels in the unit.
Just bring your suitcases - we even loan out our towles, beach toys and chairs! One guest told me we were 336 steps from one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Our quiet neighborhood, tropical nights and the trade winds make evenings outside extremely pleasant, too. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses; their just outside the studio entrance along with lots of flowers and tropical plants.
Sadly, we had a major water leak in November and had to cancel a reservation, but the bathroom is now beautifully remodeled! It's a lovely spa like bathroom with a shower/tub.
We have two very friendly dogs. Our mini dachshund Maddie will make sure you always feel safe and her pal Lilly is in charge of sharing love and being always happy to see you!
We'd love to share our piece of paradise in Kailua with you!
No smoking in unit; smoking on property permitted.
Have fun and make yourself at home!
Our three days in the Beth's house have been very nice, room very clean and lovely garden. Near to the seaside and optimal to visit Oahu. Very good cakes for breakfast!
Where do I begin? My daughter and I spent four wonderful days at Beth and John's. We felt like we were with family. If you're seeking wonderful and welcoming hosts, look no further. The studio was very comfortable. Kailua is a great place. The most beautiful beach on Oahu was just a few minutes' walk away. Their dogs were friendly and playful. And did I mention that Beth's baked treats were delicious? If we return to Oahu, this will definitely be our place to stay.
Just what we needed ! Awesome stay ! Nice room, very close to beach and town . Thank you so much for starting out our vacation with you ! Aloha we will be back.
A Piece of Paradise in Kailua, that's the text Beth has written above her businesscard. She can't be more right about this place. Ideally located in a quite part of Kailua and very close to a wonderful beach. The studio were we stayed is spacious and clean. If you want to escape the crowds in Honolulu this is the place!
Beth and John always had a welcoming smile and very helpful in making my stay pleasant. I was there for 12 days. I used her kitchen to make a few simple meals, and John offered to BBQ on another occasion. The walk to the beach is so quick. The distance to Kailua town is about 10 blocks or so, so I would drive in. There was a ceiling fan in the studio area and one also in the bathroom. Although the windows look in the driveways, I always felt privacy.
They also had nice amenities such as beach gear, and a laundry use with quarters. The giant Mango tree gave her plenty of fruit for all to eat. Her baked goods were yummy, and the hosted coffee was a life saver.
My boyfriend and I stayed in Beth's studio for two weeks, and we loved it! Beth and her husband John are wonderful people. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them. They even cooked up some MahiMahi for us that we caught on a fishing trip (they are excellent cooks btw). The location was great, only a two minute walk to the beach. Her home is located in a very peaceful and safe neighborhood. Beth gave us a lot of great tips on places to go and things to do. If you're looking for a great place to stay in Kailua, this is it. Highly recommended!
My mom and I stayed in Beth's studio in Kailua for a week, and the experience was great!
Beth was welcoming and gave a few tips on where to go for local food. Her 4 dogs were fun and adorable!
The location was fantastic, one block from Kailua beach and a few blocks from town. We had everything we needed in Kailua even if we didnt have a car, but having a car was very handy. Beth provided a complementary parking spot.

About the Host, Beth
I am one of the luckiest women around. I live in a beautiful spacious home in Kailua, Hawaii, one block from the beach, with my awesome husband John and our two very friendly and spoiled dogs. We are recent empty nesters with two exceptional kids!John and I love to "talk story" (the Hawaiian slang term for chatting) with interesting people, spending time together at the beach and watching basketball and football - we're University of Arizona and Arizona Cardinals fans! I spend my free time in my garden, reading great books, hiking or walking the beach with my dogs, and baking/cooking yummy things.
Kailua is a lovely town. I'd love to share our piece of paradise with you!
