I am offering the entire apartment. It's a cute one bedroom that accommodates no more than two people. It is located on the first floor of a newer brownstone building. The bathroom is stocked with towels, toiletries and soaps, and even robes if you are feeling extra luxurious. Almost everything in my place is reclaimed, DIY or chosen with loving care :) so you will hopefully feel comfortable and right at home. There is a queen size bed (as pictured) in the bedroom and air mattresses if your guest doesn't usually share your bed (but please request beforehand). Please cook in the kitchen, read my books and make this place your home away while in Chicago. There's central heat and AC to keep you comfortable all year round, along with a basic wifi connection. I will provide you with snacks, teas, and locally roasted coffee to drink to your heart's content. I strive to be as easy to communicate with as possible, so your feedback is valued and important to me.
**The Neighborhood, Wicker Park**
Anyone who comes to Chicago on either business or pleasure, will find themselves, intentionally or not, hanging out in Wicker Park and wondering to themselves "Why didn't I stay HERE instead of my hotel downtown!?"
This neighborhood is great and offers some of the best eating, drinking and shopping in the city. Steps from the six corners and only two metro stops from the Loop downtown. It's friendly to all age groups and budgets, and If you book, I will outline for you some of my favorite secret non-tourist spots! Art, music, food, education, yoga, thrifting, DIY, shopping, fun--let me know and I can give you lots of resources. Also, I'm near the UIC medical campus and Rush hospitals so doctors on rotation and medical students are welcome.
Getting around in these parts is easy. The blue line, which will get you all over the city, including O'Hare Airport, is one and a half blocks aways. Bus connections to all other metro lines, including connections to Midway Airport, all meet up in the area. Also, there is a taxi station right by the metro, so you have options either way you want to go.
We love hosting you, but we'll need to know who to expect prior to arrival, so valid ID's will be required prior to check-in. We request that you email or text us a copy of your Photo ID that has your address info on it at least 24-hours prior to check-in.
We let you enjoy Chicago through your own private wanderings unless of course you would really like some company, then just email us!

We enjoyed staying at Wendy’s place. It is in a great location, near the Divison Blue line station . The neighbourhood is filled with restaurants, bars, and cafes and Wendy provided a useful list of recommendations…. Thanks Wendy!
Wendy was a truly wonderful host. We showed up late and she waited for us patiently. She did a thorough tour of the apartment and also gave us some neighborhood recommendations (and it is an excellent neighborhood). The place is adorable and in a great location, a few minutes from the Division blue line and Ashland and Milwaukee buses. 30 min WALK from the Loop. The decor is beautiful and and there's enough space. We changed our reservation at the last minute, because of a mistake of ours, and she helped us getting our money back. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
The reservation was canceled 13 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My finance and I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It looked almost exactly how it appears in the photos and it was clean. The apartment is in an excellent location, it's within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and shops as well as only about two blocks or so from the blue line. I did not have a chance to meet Wendy and her husband, but I did correspond with Wendy via email and she provided a list of awesome restaurants, shops and attractions to check out. We tried several of them and they were all amazing. For the price and location, I would never stay at a hotel again while in Chicago! We would definitely stay at Wendy's apartment again.
Wendy was an excellent host! We showed up & she welcomed us with beer, which is always good. She did a thorough tour of the apartment and also gave us some neighborhood recommendations. The place is adorable and in a great location, a few minutes from the Division blue line and Ashland and Milwaukee buses. The decor is really fun, and there's enough space where you can spread out and not feel cramped at all. This is the perfect place for a couple to stay! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Wendy was an excellent host. Communication with her was excellent. The check in was smooth. The apartment a little bigger and a little nicer than we'd expected. The neighbourhood had lots of great restaurants, and Wendy provided a useful list of recommendations. I'd be glad to rent from her again.
Wendy's palce was absolutely perfect! We felt right at home in this cosy and comfortable home. Wendy was very easty to contact and provided us with so much local information. The property is close to public transprot and in the middle of a lovely neighbourhood. Check in and check out were both a breeze. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Chicago! WAY better than a hotel. Thanks Wendy
Wendy was very quick to respond and very generous.
We stayed for 7 nights in Wendy's appartement. She has been very helpful before our arrival and answered our questions quickly.
The appartement is easy to reach from the airport and it takes 10 minutes to reach the Loop by subway. The location is convenient and the area quiet. There is a small grocery store very close and a larger supermarket at a walking distance.
The apartement has everything you could need and is nicely furnished.
Unfortunately, the Wifi is really, really slow.
In general our experience has been very positive and we will be happy to come back at Wendy's for our next stay in Chicago!
Wendy was charming and very accomodating. Her place is clean and well supplied. It really looks just like the pictures. Not too big, not too small - with a full sized bathroom and galley kitchen.
I hope to stay there again as I think I'll be visiting Chicago more frequently in the near future.
