A small, tall, three story house right in the centre of town. There are 8 rooms in the house, nice kitchen for you to use, roofterrace with hammocks and quiet little garden to sit.
The house has 8 rooms. You will get your own set of keys to the house so also when none of us is there you can enter like is your home. Feel free to use the kitchen. It is fully equipped. You can sit to eat either in the kitchen, on the garden terrace, on the roofterrace or in your own room. Most rooms have a TV but there is also a small TV area downstairs.
It's like a shared house, you can use the kitchen, sit in the garden or on the roofterrace and watch TV or read a book in the lounge area.
Interaction with guests
If I'm not around then either Priscilla or one of my other friends will be around if you need anything. If you want to do any tours, we can give you all the information of the area and we can help you organize it. Also we have a big map on the wall with all recommendations for restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc. We`re happy to help you with anything.
We are located in the centre of town close to everything, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants and cafés. Turrialba is a bustling little town with friendly people and surrounded by coffee and sugarcanefields and a magnificent view of the Turrialba volcano. Most people come for the white water rafting as the Pacuare river is one of the most beautiful rivers in the world.
There are hourly (comfortable) buses to the direction of San José and to the Carribbean. We are 7 minutes walk from the main bus terminal. Parking is possible in the street at night and in the weekends, and during the week 1 block away. There is also 24h security parking 1 block away for C5000 a night.
Other things to note
There is always someone that stays at the house. Either myself or my friend Ineke, also from the Netherlands. So you know in case you need anything.
Its a friendly, clean, laid-back place. No party place. After 10 pm everyone is expected to keep it quiet and respectful to other guests already sleeping as many go whiter water rafting early in the morning. If you use the kitchen, please wash your dishes and put them back in their place.
Originally from The Netherlands but raised internationally with parents travelling around the world. Growing up, living in different continents, learning about other cultures and natural environments at a young age, I developed a great interest in travelling too.
With my place “Casa de Lis” my aim is to create a happy, comfortable and relaxing place for travelers of all kind, international and local, and to attract more visitors to Turrialba.
