About This Listing
Apt is on 10th floor of elevator/doorman building, full of prewar charm and a view of the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings.
Situation in the heart of Chelsea, everything this fantastic neighborhood and it's surrounding areas (West Village, Meatpacking and Union Square are a 5 minute walk) is at your finger tips: 2 major train lines line the block (1/2/3 and the A/C/E); the city's best restaurant selection (from the quick and easy to the refined palate and scenery driven); art galleries, numbering over 150; high fashion boutiques and discount shopping...plus it's a quick 5 minute subway ride to the theatre district (ie convenience without the headache).
The apartment itself has every amenity, including cable (HBO + Showtime), wireless internet and the kitchen comes fully equipped.
A studio with separate kitchen, office and bathroom, it is small by national standards, but at 500 sq ft can feel like a mansion to many NY-ers.
A C E trains on 1 end of block; 1 2 3 and 9 trains 2 blocks away; B D F and M and Path Train 1 avenue away
We had a great stay in Mark's appartment. Location is fabulous - lots of restaurants and shops nearby but not crowded by tourists as many other parts of Manhattan. We walked almost everywhere but if you prefer public transport - subway is just one block away. The building ( there is a doorman 24/7) and the area felt very safe. Would definitely stay there again !
We had a wonderful stay in New York. Marks apartment was cozy and clean. The bed was super comfy! The apartment is on a lively corner of 7th avenue, plenty of shops and restaurants nearby ( highly recommend the Grey Dog on the block) , and subway a short walk. If you enjoy walking you can see most attractions on foot from here. Nearest are Chelsea Market and The Highline. Mark was away when we stayed but was in contact with us during the week. A doorman building too, added a sense of security, however neighbourhood felt safe even at night.
The location of the apartment makes you very close from everywhere in Manhattan and well placed in a safe and trendy area. Our stay was wonderful but everything has to come to an end, even our best vacations in NY... If we come back in NY we know where to stay.
Mark's apartment is cozy and just the right size when a friend and I stayed there the week of Thanksgiving. The Wi-Fi is completely reliable, allowing me to get a bit of work done. When I needed to step out for food I had my pick of some of the best places in the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend the Old Grey Dog a few doors down for an excellent breakfast to start the day. When I started looking for a place to stay in the area, I almost booked the Dream hotel (which I've stayed at a few times), but decided to change it up and look for a place that felt more homey. The decision to stay at Mark's over a hotel made my visit so much more enjoyable. The week I was there the temperature outside was 68 degrees one afternoon and then 37 degrees at night a few days later. However, the apartment never felt too hot or too cold. The pictures of the space are true to what you can expect to find if you visit. The bed is a very comfortable memory foam. I also appreciated that Mark freed up room in his closet before I arrived, which let me hang some clothes up. All in all, great apartment and a fantastic host.
We had an amazing time at Mark's place! The apartment is perfectly situated - it's right in the heart of Chelsea, very close to major subway lines, and also within walking distance of major attractions if you like to explore by foot. There are numerous bars and restaurants in the nearby streets.
The apartment itself comes fully equipped. While it's not huge, it is very well decorated. It's on the 10th floor so there's a nice view, and the building having a doorman is also a bonus (although the surrounding streets felt perfectly safe, even late at night).
We didn't get to meet Mark in person, as he was away, but he was available and responsive.
To conclude, Mark's apartment is an excellent choice, and we'd definitely stay again!
Mark's place was perfect. Very quiet, clean and beautifully decorated. The location couldn't be better. We were steps away from the subway, and could walk pretty much to all the attractions we came to see. Definitely check out the high line (future guests). Mark was excellent at communicating and suggesting places to eat. I would love to stay there again on my next New York trip. Thanks again Mark.
