Interaction with Guests
I enjoy being a tourist in my own town. Louisville has much to offer anyone interested in art, walking trails, architecture, restaurants etc. I'm always excited to share what I love with visitors.
From the front, my street looks like any other neighborhood full of little brick houses. But in the back, facing the woods, you'd hardly know you were in the same neighborhood. You can walk through the woods and come out onto a sweet little walking trail near Bear Grass Creek. There are other pleasant walking places nearby.
How Convenient! There is a bus stop just two blocks away. (Great for short distance travel in Lyndon/St. Matthews /Crestwood area, but not all that great for downtown, late nighte etc. ) In walking distance: Walgreens, Subway, Domino's, Sushi to Go, Thornton's, Oriental Grocery store, Barber Shop,Hair Salon, Small Cafe. 5 minutes by car to major interstate access in all directions. 10 minutes drive to 3 major Shopping Centers, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, & a movie theater.
L'Ville is fast becoming a great city for bicyclists and I am a great supporter of the trend. I have one "loner bike" and encourage bicycle riders to bring theirs and check out some of our fantastic bike routes. Also have car services like Uber, Taxify for on call rides.
Other Things to Note
"Charlie" is a 5 year old Golden/Shepard mix. She's pretty shy and will probably just stay in her (my) room. L'Ville is worth a day or two extra on a bus. trip or "drive through". We have some unique offerings along the waterfront, Old L'Ville, Bourbon Trail, Parklands of Flyods Fork, Botanical Garden and 21C Museum Hotel worth seeing!
I Just hope I'm a good host and you're a good guest.
Of course, ;no smoking in the house, but feel free to smoke outside on the deck. No drugs. No pets unless we've talked about this ahead of time. No cooking in the room, just tea or coffee please.
Exactly as advertised and much more! Absolutely delightful and comfortable. Janice is the best Airbnb'er ever! She made the stay that much better, which was already 10x better than a hotel, and was as welcoming and warming as a Bed n Breakfast in the country somewhere. Simple, Clean, Refreshing n AWESOME! Thanks.
Janice is a wonderful host and a very interesting, kind person. After an amazing and exhausting time at Bonnaroo, staying at Janice's peaceful abode is exactly what we needed. The room is cheerful and Janice has a great tea service and snacks, and the bed is bigger than it looks. Janice was also able to accommodate my kitty and we are thankful to her for her hospitality and for sharing with us her cool stories!
Janice was amazing. Her home is so beautiful, and at such a great price! The rooms have little snacks, things to make coffee and tea with, and she is more than generous with breakfast foods. She is so kind and was willing to talk to us for quite a while about Louisville, telling us fun places to go and making us feel more than welcome. This is our first time staying someplace with airbnb, and if the rest of the places are half as good as this was, then we will definitely use it again. Way better than a hotel.
Janice was truly wonderful. I am currently going through a divorce and needed a place to stay for a couple days until I could get on my feet. She was so hospitable and really made you feel welcomed. The room I stayed in was better then I expected and I felt very safe in her home and in the neighborhood.
I've stayed with Janice many times. Each time I'm reminded how wonderful it is to feel safe and comfortable when traveling. Janice's home is an excellent "landing" place, and I highly recommend her for both long and short stays. 6 STARS!!
We had an absolutely lovely team staying with Janice. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, comfortable, and at home. A clean/comfy/cozy room, an entry to come and go as we pleased, breakfast in the morning, pleasant conversation, and plenty of suggestions for us to explore the city (her journal of suggestions from previous guests was a huge help, too!). Janice is a very interesting, kind, cultured, and accomodating woman. Her home is a little bit of a drive outside the city proper, but the experience is worth the ten minutes it takes to get downtown from her place.
Warm, comfortable home! Jan's place is on a quiet street in Louisville, close to downtown. Wonderful room and killer breakfast in the am. Jan's is a warm and inviting guest, do not hesitate to book, you will not regret! Thanks again for the southern hospitality Jan ~ Dave
