I liked staying with Brian and Phyllis as their home met all my needs. Basically I was outdoors most of the day and needed an affordable bed nearby. The double room and bathroom were bright and sunny in the morning. The heating was on from evening throughout the night, which is a big plus for me - I been cold too many times staying in Ireland. I slept well. Everything you need is within in a five to ten minute walk (shops, transportation, the seaside.) I did feel the house had quite thin walls as I was able to hear a lot of conversation and goings on from the lower level of the house, but I did not mind as this seems to be quite common in Ireland and I generally wear ear plugs a lot when traveling.
Brian and Phyllis were very welcoming and though we were only there for a very short stay, it was very pleasant. The location is great and the breakfast was very good!
Very comfortable. The location turned out to be terrific for our 3 day stay. The LEAP visitor transit pass we bought at the airport SPAR store made the train ride into town economical as well as fun. And the neighborhood has great food and interesting things to see -- especially for James Joyce fans.
Brian and Phillis helpful, decent cooked breakfast, clean room, good king size bed. Had problem linking to internet. Place could really do with a face lift.
My sister and I only spent two nights at Brian and Phyllis, but we enjoyed our stay. Everything was okay and Brian was a perfect host.
My sister and I spent a week here and found it to be a perfect location to use as a base. our room though small was clean and quiet. We found Brian and Phyllis to be the sweetest people Brian helped us with directions and we had some good conversations with him about many subjects. We were a few blocks from DART which we took all over. The little town has friendly people and it's enjoyable to walk around in. This is not some fancy house but a regular home and if your going to be out and about and just need a clean safe inexpensive place to stay this is the place!
