The space

Architect designed, ( nominated in 2011 for the Governor's Award for Architecture in Cayman) newly-built home on the canals of North Sound, make this the perfect private hideaway for a couple wanting to get away from it all.
Situated on a corner canal lot facing the cooling east winds, with water on two sides, there's a beautiful dock to watch sunrises, sunsets, jumping fish, and green parrots flying by. Or hop in our new toy- a 2 seat kayak to explore the canals and the nearby marine reserve in North Sound to the left- just a quick paddle away.
One bedroom with a king size bed on main floor (loft is for owner's storage), open style kitchen and living area with cathedral ceiling. Kitchen fully stocked, cable TV, wireless internet and washer/dryer.
The house has an indoor-outdoor feel with a large deck off the living room. Barbeque on deck or dock surrounded by the lovely garden.
15 minute drive to Georgetown.
5 minute drive to shopping- groceries, liquor store, pharmacy, bank, hardware store.
7 minute drive to the closest beach. (a rental car is highly recommended)
Near Historic Bodden Town, Spotts Beach and some great restaurants.
If you are looking to party-hearty in 7-Mile Beach then this place is not for you.
But if you are looking for a great little getaway that offers peace and tranquility, unique flora and fauna, and all the sunshine you could want, then this is the place for you.
Your own perfect home in the sun.

Guest access

The house and all of the grounds are at your disposal. As we live on our boat when we are renting, the west end (40ft) of our 100 foot dock is primarily for our use. Palm trees and a wooden screen ensure complete privacy.

Interaction with guests

When on island we are always available to help with any issues. If off island we have a manager who does the same.

Wonderful stay in very comfortable unique home in residential setting on a canal. Very clean, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and fabulous shower. Kitchen very functional and washer and dryer good. Plenty of storage space. Lovely deck for breakfast and dinner. Took a couple of days to get used to the sounds of the neighborhood- roosters crowing, dogs barking and wind blowing but grew to love it! Peter and Mary Ann were gracious hosts and made us very welcome - while they were in residence on their boat we did not see much of them.

While the house is a bit far from Georgetown, on the other hand, we loved not being in the middle of the crazy tourist action, especially when the cruise ships were in port. Mary Anne and Peter's house was just perfect for the two of us, and had everything we needed. The highlight of the trip was getting to know Mary Anne and Peter. One could not ask for more delightful and gracious hosts. We would definitely stay there again!

Mary Anne and Pete were great! Very friendly and answered all the important questions regarding the house, restaurants, shopping and site seeing. It was great that they have a 2 person red kayak to use. It was great going up the waterway and into the mangrove tree areas. Kitchen had everything we needed, air conditioning was used only a few days in the bedroom because of the constant breezes. House is only one bedroom, living room and kitchen, but perfect for 2 people. The king size bed was very comfortable. It was a nice touch they had chairs and coolers for the beach (which is not in their area), so need a rental car.

Having lived in Cayman for a few years and stayed in numerous places across the island, this relaxed and charming eco style home offers the "real deal" for Caribbean living. Nestled between two canals with gentle sea breezes, this home offers the perfect getaway from everyday life. Great design, tastefully furnished (with all mod cons imaginable - washing machine, dryer, oven, microwave, gas hob, air conditioning, bathroom, shower etc ), the house oozes charm and character. Peter and Mary have done an incredible job getting the balance just right between style and practical living. The location is fantastic and just a short drive to all the beautiful beaches in Cayman, as well as local shops and restaurants. Walking around the outside on the raised deck area, overlooking the canals and garden (complete with amazing outside shower), it only takes a few minutes to soak in the beautiful environment and feel at home. Exceptional hosts. Friendly, hospitable and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for Peter and Mary to help you enjoy your stay. Thoroughly recommended. A great little hidden gem in the North Sound area that should be shared to everyone! Stuart

Mary Anne and Peter are great hosts- very helpful in supplying directions, information about the property, and are available as needed for questions about the property or island. The location is very peaceful, and in a nice residential area-away from the bustle and crowds/traffic of the 7 mile beach. Convenient central location if you are interested in activities on both the East or West side of Grand Cayman. The property is well designed and has great character, is very clean and with a nice landscaped court yard on a canal system; a shaded porch overlooking the water is a great place to read or spend time just relaxing. Neighborhood has low traffic volume, and it there are some nice routes to run/walk. Would definitely stay/recommend it to others looking to get off the beaten path of the 7 mile beach area.

Mary Anne was attentive to responding to enquiries we had prior to our booking. Peter was away at the time so unfortunately we did not get to meet him, although his personal touch to detail in the house was obvious and inviting. This home was definitely a piece of paradise for us -- a private location to relax, but not far away from things that tourists do. The neighbours were friendly and we enjoyed the interaction. The house is very comfortable, including the great king-size bed! Use of the kayak to explore the canal was a bonus. The little extras that were supplied in the refrigerator and apt. itself was much appreciated.

Hi Friends. We will be happy to welcome you to the Cayman Islands. We are both Canadians who live and work here. A few years ago we did a 2 year clockwise circumnavigation of the Caribbean in our 42ft classic wooden sailboat. Our first port of call was Guatemala and our last was Panama. Our house is a reflection of our love of sailing, cruising and traveling. When we returned here we bought this lovely lot and continued to live aboard our boat while we built our small dream house. When we rent our house we either travel, house sit or live aboard. It's paradise here and we want to share our house and meet guests from all over the world.
