This is great residential area in sunny Santa Monica, 1.5 miles from the beach. Close to UCLA, Santa Monica City College, St. Mary’s, and Pepperdine. The neighborhood is very safe and is made up mostly of students and young professionals.
There is plenty of restaurants (Pizza, sushi, Argentine, french cafe, Burgers. Mexican...) and bars (irish pubs, sport bars, upscale bars, etc...) that are within walking distance of our apartment. The beach is a 5 minute bus ride or drive, or a 15 minute bike ride.
Located in between Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevard, the neighborhood is great and not far from anything. I am half a block from public transportation in either direction.
The location is ideal - minutes to downtown Santa Monica, Venice, Westwood, and the Getty Museum. There are plenty of restaurants and nightlife very close by, as well as the glorious beaches, shopping, and museums.
There is organic store and wine around the corner.
Santa Monica has great boutique stores all around the area. If you’re into records, one of the largest record store is blocks from our place. It’s a short bike ride and even shorter bus ride down to 3rd Street Promenade where you’ll find all your shopping heart desires..
One of my daughter lives with me half of the time and she has her own bedroom.
You are welcome to use the kitchen but please empty the dishwasher and the trash when it's filled up if it's necessary.
You can use the laundry machine but not after 9:30pm.
Please keep the kitchen always clean, nothing in the counter or in the sink. Same thing for the living room, keep your belongings in your bedroom.
Please don't smoke inside, even on the patio. The Santa Monica rules are very strict, you can smoke only in the street.
We live in a quiet neighborhood so please be respectful of the neighbors and keep voices down after 10pm.
Didier was incredibly welcoming and helpful. He made my transition to the LA area super smooth. I stayed in this awesome spot for about two weeks and always felt at home. Plus the location is not too shabby! So happy I found the posting when I did.
It was an awesome staying. Didier is a great host, kind and always ready to help you if needed. Him and his wife became a family to me, I can't wait to be back once again! Everything was perfect, super suggested!
I had a wonderful experience at Didier's place. It was like living in my own wing of the apartment. He let me do "my thing," but was always around for me in case I needed something.
Didier was an amazing host; he is extremely welcoming, interesting and a great LA guide. The room is very comfortable and spacious; with a private bathroom. The location is fantastic; a short bus ride from the beach and shops and a great local organic supermarket. 5* AirBnB!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Didier's space was better than advertised. Clean, spacious, with plenty of natural light. Santa Monica is a difficult city to park, and the use of the off street parking pad is a great perk. Didier himself is a great host, casual and accommodating. I would definitely not hesitate in booking with him again.
If you need quiet and a great bed, this is the place for you! Didier and his wife were so pleasant and provided me with both a transmitter to the parking garage and a street permit, so I had no problems parking right at their place. There is a CVS 1/2 block away and a Bristol Farms 1 block away. It was so quiet that you would never guess this tree-lined street intersects with Wilshire. I barely saw my hosts due to my schedule, but they are just lovely and I would completely recommend staying here, especially when a good night's sleep is a high priority.
