Please see our listing "Corporate Apartment in Mount Vernon". This consists a complete apartment including kitchen, living room and laundry (see floor plan in photos). Booking this as well will essentially give you the entire third floor of the house.
ABOUT THE HOUSE:
Currently this is an owner occupied guest house with a corporate apartment and a two bedroom/one bath suite on the third floor, and two large bedrooms with private baths on the second floor. We are LGBT welcoming. While we are not, as of yet, serving breakfast, there are plenty of options within walking distance and around the city that we would be happy to recommend.
Located in Baltimore’s hip and historic Mount Vernon, we offer visitors a unique blend of Victorian charm, modern elegance, and downtown Baltimore convenience. Nestled on a pretty tree-lined side street, we are only steps from everything historic Mount Vernon has to offer, including restaurants, theatre, museums, symphony hall, and nightlife.
The central location also makes the this an ideal hub from which to explore the rest of the city, and the region. Stops for the MARC, Amtrak, Lightrail, The FREE Charm City Circulator ((email hidden)), as well as the Johns Hopkins AND University of Maryland shuttles are all within walking distance. There's a Zipcar station right in front of the house, and two more within a block. Interstate 83 is only a four block drive from your off street parking space behind the house.
We had a fantastic time at Thomas' place. The house is beautiful and the rooms are charming and spotless. Thomas himself is a wonderful host, I cannot praise him enough. We hope to be back very soon, thank you again for having us!
Although John has spent several nights with Tom & Larry at The Empire House, this was my first time. We stayed in the two bedroom suite on the top floor of the19th century mansion. Everything about our experience there was outstanding. The house itself is beautiful, very clean, roomy, comfortable, and impeccably furnished with top-notch vintage furnishings.
Also top-notch was the hospitality. From the moment we arrived (just a few blocks' walk from Penn Station) we were taken great care of. Tom delivered our bags to our 3rd floor suite while we went out sight-seeing. Larry and Tom went out of their way to suggest sights to see, places to eat, and even transportation options.
There is no doubt about where we'll stay in any future trips to Baltimore! If you have the opportunity, grab it...thank me later :-)
Super quick responses by Tom, really amazing house in a perfect downtown location near Amtrak/MARC station, great rooms with every amenity one could think of. If I ever need a couple of beds in B-more again I know who I'll be asking!
Thank you Tom! I had a perfectly lovely time staying with you.
We loved staying with Tom. The space was cozy and clean. Stay here! It was awesome.
This apartment was the perfect place to stay during a week-long conference. It was just 1/2h walk down to the Convention Centre, or a bus ride on the free city circulator. The rooms were spacious enough for our needs and the beds superbly comfortable. We enjoyed meeting Thomas and Larry who were attentive and helpful hosts. We enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood north of Chase St, which is quiet and very pleasant. All a much needed haven after busy working days!
A grand house with friendly innkeepers in an interesting and beautiful part of Baltimore. Our family took the whole top floor so we could hang out together in between exploring the city. We had a car but there is lots to see on foot. We will be back!
We enjoyed our stay in the two bedroom suite. Although on the third floor, the climb up and down the stairway is like something out of an old movie. The house and the interior are charming. We especially liked sitting and reading in the yellow parlor that had sunshine coming through the windows and the chairs, with ottomans, were comfortable. It was nice to get up and make a fresh cup of coffee in the morning and sit in that room and enjoy. The stay at this house was a genuine Mount Vernon experience. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Finally, we all slept very, very well here. For us, that is not typically the case in a hotel. We would definitely come back.
All the reviews are true!! This was our first Airbnb stay. So much more memorable than any of the hotels we have settled for in Baltimore. Seems quite revolutionary!!! Our stay is still resonating in our memories and provided an integral pleasure to the visit with our daughter, thanks to Thomas and Larry, our thoughtful hosts!
This is a stunning home! It was a great place to stay. Thomas was very helpful. It was a great experience all around.
Terrific place to stay in Baltimore. Great neighborhood, grand house without being pretentious, affable yet unobtrusive host, clean, comfortable room -- highly recommend over any Inner Harbor hotel.
