The Sleeping Quarters:
The master bedroom, on the upper level with views facing the valley, is beautifully decorated and includes a magnificent king-sized bed. The master bathroom is equipped with a double-headed shower and also has a great view overlooking the valley!
The second bedroom is also upstairs, not far from the Master bedroom. It has a queen bed with a dresser and plenty of closet space. It does not have an inside private bathroom but is just next to a bathroom with shower and bath.
The third bedroom is downstairs, also with a view facing the valley. It has a queen-sized bed and sliding-glass doors which open to the garden, with closet and drawer space. It also does not have an inside private bathroom but is just next to a bathroom with a shower.
The fourth bed is in the office - a couch/daybed which sleeps one person comfortably. The room also has a closet.
In addition, the family room downstairs (where the 60-inch TV is) has a futon couch which folds down for sleeping, and the main couch in the room is insanely comfortable and big enough for 2 to sleep on as well. There's also a leather couch in the living room upstairs which could be used for snoozin'.

Very Important Note:
Please be keenly aware that you will be in the forest. Bear droppings have been found near the house, and there have been several black bear sightings in the area. There has also been a reports of a cougar in the area, although such reports have been rare. In addition, there are sometimes coyotes, bobcat, raccoons and other wildlife around, so all corresponding precautions should be taken. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT BRING ANY CHILD WHO MAY WANDER OUTSIDE ON HIS OR HER OWN. Bear bells, bear spray, legal firearms and other forest protection items are highly recommended if you plan on walking in the area (but please note that hunting in the area is prohibited).
In addition, please be very careful and obey all speed limit signs in the area as deer (some of whom are wonderfully friendly) frequently cross the roads.
Interaction with Guests
We won't bug you unless you want us too!
What's not to love about beautiful doug firs, spectacular views and black-tailed deer prancing around the neighborhood?
While you will be relaxing away from the hustle and bustle you will be just 15 minutes from the town of Washougal and 25 minutes from upscale shopping and nice restaurants in the Fisher's Landing area of Vancouver, Washington (including Whole Foods, New Seasons, Macy's, and many other favorites). A gas station and fairly well-stocked grocery is also just 10 minutes away! Don't worry, we'll have maps and directions awaiting your arrival.
Other Things to Note
We have a landscaper who maintains the property. She is lovely and will not bother you, but if you are staying for a week or more, or during the week, it is likely you might notice her outside maintaining the plants and garden, especially during the spring and summer months. If you find this problematic, let us know ahead of time.
Also please note that some changes have been made to the house after most of the pictures were taken. We take safety very seriously and have spent a lot to make sure that everything is up to code, shoring up the deck and adding a handbar to the top of the deck railing, plus we added additional bars to the spiral staircase and built a new staircase which leads to the deck on the side of the house.
The fireplaces which are shown in the pictures are not available for use.
No smoking or fire creation is allowed on the property, except that you may smoke in your vehicle as long as all butts are left in the vehicle.
You and your guests should not lean on the deck railing. Although it is quite sturdy, it will not support unlimited weight.
Please note that if the house is left in a condition where it costs us more than usual to restore it to a rentable condition , we will consider the extra cost to be damage which will be deducted from your security deposit. This includes leaving an excess amount of garbage which we have to have hauled away. A normal amount of trash left in the garage or dog run will be fine.
The house is on a septic system, so nothing synthetic apart from toilet paper (not even tissues) should be flushed down the toilet. Please wrap sanitary napkins and other such items in the paper towels which have been provided in the bathrooms, and place in the wastepaper basket.
Lastly, and once again, please be very careful driving on the road which leads to the house. The deer up here are very friendly and we love them very much. Baby fawns, in addition to older deer, sometimes cross the road.
From Jun 1 - Aug 31, 2016 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
We love music, traveling, wellness, and humans! We are excited to meet you (if you so choose!), and excited to share our beautiful space with you.
