The space

Hello my name is Stephane welcome to Brooklyn! Take a look at my great appartment! You will have your own private bedroom and adjoining private full bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows here so if you are into sunshine, this is your spot! And central A/C manages the temperature down if need be - The bedroom has a full sized bed and a memory foam mattress. Its very comfortable, after a long day of exploring the city. There is also an empty closet to hang your clothes, and multiple drawers to store your belongings. And a vanity refrigerator, handy to keep your your things cool especially in the hot summer ! There is even a selection of cold beverages waiting for you in it ! Last but not least, fiber optic internet will let you connect at a rarely achieved speed of more than 75MBPS !

Guest access

I have a great Gourmet kitchen with a great bar counter. You will also enjoy complimentary Nespresso or fresh brewed Coffee or fine teas. There is also a balcony in front of your room where you can enjoy breakfast, or a smoke, and a fitness center at your disposal downstairs.

Interaction with guests

I live in the appartment, and work from my home office in a separate quarter of the appartment. The guest corner is pretty quiet and remote, so you should'nt be afraid of a lack of privacy. I usually keep to myself, but am also a sociable host and happy to interact with my guests if they want to.
When you arrive, I will give you a key and key card for 24 hour access to the apartment, gym and outdoor lounge, and other common areas of the building.

The neighborhood

Clinton Hill is a dynamic and well-rounded Brooklyn neighborhood. Pratt Institute, School of Architecture is just one block away, New exciting stores and restaurants open regularly, just down Myrtle Avenue. A great organic supermarket is conveniently located one block away.

Getting around

Pratt Institute, School of Architecture is just one block away, About 30 minutes to get to Union Square Manhattan, including less than 10 minutes walk to get to the G line, 15 minutes to the C line, 3 minutes from the citibike/bike share station, easy street parking one block away. It takes 45 minutes to go to Times Square by subway, but only 20 minutes bike ride to Soho!

Other things to note

The minibar is fully stocked for your convenience, and it is designed to be self sustainable : If you drink anything from the bar, please replace it by an equivalent item.

We had a very pleasant stay at Stephane's apartment in Brooklyn during the Xmas and New Year period. If we're honest we didn't realise the hassle it could cause for some people with getting into Manhattan everyday, the G line doesn't run direct into the city so you will have to make a few changes, unless you want to walk 6 blocks to catch the C train. The room was a very good size and you have your own private bathroom which was lovely and clean. The aircon system however in the guest room, had a really strong cigarette smell when turned on, and was also extremely noisy. Views we're lovely to wake up to and seeing the one world trade centre every morning. The amenities within the room were perfect, a selection of tea and coffee and a mini fridge which guests themselves use/stock up for future guests (great idea). All in all we had a nice stay, this was also a special occasion time of year (birthday trip and New Years). If you're looking for a local apartment with access to Manhattan and Brooklyn this is ideal, but if you're more looking for Manhattan I'd suggest looking for a place locally in Manhattan or maybe 1 subway stop away.

Thanks for the review Vincent. You have noticed it is a catch 22 to have a 5 star room with private bathroom at a great price, and be located in the heart of Manhattan rather than Brooklyn. The choice is made is comfort and a great view, hence Brooklyn !

Stephane's home was a great place to stay. We didn't get to see each other very much as we were both busy, but he made sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We loved our time at Stephane's apartment ..cosy and comfortable with million dollar views of Manhattan from all windows provided us with lasting memories. Loved our breakfasts on the little balcony. The apartment is well-located with cafes, restaurants, buses and subway all close by. Stephane did everything possible to ensure we had a pleasant stay ...always at the ready to answer our many and varied questions and even booking our cab for us as we left for the next leg of our U.S. journey.
