  • We had a wonderful experience at Red Hill as Jil and Paul warmly welcomed us into the heart of their home for 6 nights in March. They have a beautiful home located among vineyards and rolling pastures, where we enjoyed waking to the tranquility of the attractive Mornington countryside and birdsong. Our hosts were generous and helpful with local knowledge and recommendations for daily itineraries to share. A shared breakfast was a great way to start each day, and we felt pampered every day of our stay. I did enjoy the morning coffee and the chats, and meeting kindred spirits.

  • Arriving via the sweeping driveway is a majestic feeling which is further reflected in the spacious accomodation encompassing the Kookaburra Room. All amenities were clean & practical with Jil's personal touch evident. The surroundings simply invite one to relax, the pool provided much needed cool-off during the heatwave conditions of our stay. Hooray for airconditioning and ceiling fans too!
Breakfast was better than at most hotels, always fresh fruitsalad, crusty bread, finest yogurt & juice.
Wonderful place, worth leaving the beaten track for and meeting the owners of the Kookaburra Room @Red Hill Sth.

  • Fantastic hosts, it was wonderful wake up to fresh bread. They were so thoughtful, offering us either a lift to our friends wedding down the road. Even after we declined and said we'll walk, they even provided us with a torch to find our way home at night as there is limited street lights.

  • My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying at Kookaburra Room. Jil and Paul are both very nice and their new little kitten Serge is delightful. I'm not even a cat person. The house is spotlessly clean & the breakfast delicious with the home made bread and jam the highlight. The home is nestled amongst a beautifully established garden with an abundance of wild yet tame birds such as king parrots coming in for a feed. The location is perfect if you're after visiting some wineries and the newly built Epicurean (a must visit) All in all a very pleasant stay.

  • We recently had the pleasure of spending the night at Jil and Paul's beautiful home and would highly recommend it. You will receive warm welcome and if you are lucky, Saffy their friendly Burmese cat will allow you to make a fuss of her!

The accommodation is excellent and you will sleep soundly in your beautifully comfortable bed and in the morning the smell of Paul's freshly baked bread will have you making your way to the kitchen for a tasty breakfast. The house is set in eight acres of beautifully kept gardens and there are even some sheep which you can hand feed if you entice them with the odd snow pea or two!

Jil and Paul both enjoy having a chat and we very much enjoyed their company. Give yourself a treat and go and stay, and see for yourself! We shall certainly be returning at some point and hope to be introduced to their new kitten, Serge!

  • A stay at Jil and Paul's Kookaburra room was recommended to us by friends. We are so happy that we took that recommendation. Jil and Paul are absolutely great hosts and their home and location are beautiful. The lovely grounds, the beautiful bird life and the wonder peace and quiet are a welcome retreat from the hustle, bustle and noise of the cities. The bed in the Kookaburra room is sooo comfortable.
The home made bread and muffins for breakfast are a wonderful treat. We enjoyed nibbles and some fine wine with Jil and Paul and enjoyed dining out as well. A game of golf arranged by Paul was really enjoyed on a perfect weather day on one of the best courses on the Peninsula. Jil and Paul are also a wealth of information about where to go and what to do in the area and share this freely.
We left our stay here with two new friends. How great is that?

  • Had a superb weekend in the Mornington Peninsula arranged at super-short notice. Jil and Paul are extremely flexible and accommodating. We enjoyed the ambience of their lovely home and gardens, especially the warm welcome by the log fire. Cheese and wine on Saturday evening before we went out to dinner was an unexpected and delicious bonus. Breakfast comprised homemade muesli, bread and jams the next morning. Perfect location in Red Hill South for restauarants, wineries and art and craft studios. It all turned out to be a very refreshing short break.

  • On a wintry Friday evening Jil and Paul welcomed us to sit by their log fire in their lovely home. They gave us great advice on places to eat out and visit. They were friendly and charming as were their two cats who curled up by the fire. The gardens are very pretty and full of bird life, including kookaburras and cockatoos. The bedroom looks right out onto the garden. The breakfast was all delicious home made produce. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay thanks.

  • We had a wonderful time. Jil and Paul are perfect hosts, and their home is beautiful and comfy. My partner and I went for a long morning run (and got caught in the rain--very romantic!), and on our return were treated to a fabulous breakfast of fresh baked bread, home made jams, tea, yoghurt and fruit, and the warm company of our terrific hosts. The experience really could not have been more perfect. I would stay with Jil and Paul again in a heart beat.
