Welcome. Our cozy home offers sanctuary. Surrounded by ancient oaks, a dry creek with restful bird-watching spots. Just a short scenic walk to Ojai Village's unique shops, restaurants and theaters (live and film). Enjoy our Sunday's Farmer's Market!
This little country-like home was built in 1949. Upgraded throughout the years. Settled on a side-walk-less street, surrounded by trees and vast views of the Mountains that hug Ojai Valley. Birds from humming to blue jays, many whose names I don't know, sing their morning songs. This is a peaceful sanctuary of vibrancy. An invitation to stop, pause, hold still and deeply relax.
You will have access to the entire house (except host's bedroom) and yards. Relax sip your tea or coffee on the dry creek-side of the house. Large umbrella and chairs are there for your bird-watching and listening pleasure. Join us in keeping Peeka, our lovely calico, in the house. Many thanks!
Interaction with Guests
As my longtime friend Cathy mentions in her Friend Reference, I am intuitive. Quiet and engaging. If you are interested in hearing my preferred eateries, etc I love to share and promote local merchants. I'm equally interested in hearing what brings you to Ojai. And a bit about your interests in general. Meditation and yoga practices are highly welcome. We can clear a space for you, for both if that appeals to you. Namaste!
Our neighborhood is friendly and community oriented. Before I moved in I was invited to my next door neighbors, Dave and Elizabeth's house warming celebration. That's friendly!!
I love the views of surrounding properties. Trees. Trees. Trees. The primary colors offered the viewer are varied shades of clouds, blue-hues and multitudes of greens.
It's spacious. Kids, adults pass by on their bikes. Folks say hello, good morning or stop for a brief chat.
When there's an event in the Village, you'll notice people dressed for the occasion. Walking to their destination. Be it Libbey Bowl or The Art Center on Montgomery. Or maybe simply strolling to have a good meal at a great downtown restaurant.
It's warm and friendly. With no sidewalks! Has a country-feel while being within this charmingly small town. Welcome to the Neighborhood!
You can walk to downtown from here. Ojai Trolly stops are just down the street on Grand Ave. Trolly runs 7 days a week. Routes include: Ojai, Meiners Oaks and Mira Monte. Gold Coast Transit's bus depot is a short walk from here too. They offer fixed-route services in Ojai, Ventura, Oxnard and Port Hueneme. You can always bring or rent a bike! There are several great bicycle shops in town. Rails-to-trails routes are enjoyed by walking and cycling enthusiasts alike.

Antoinette was a sweet and kind host. Her home was filled with color and intention, and was simple and tidy. The fresh berries in the morning were a delightful treat, as were the other thoughtful accoutrements (ie truffles and mixed nuts). Other reviewers noted they didn't see her much or at all, but we saw her throughout the days. The home appears to be modest and vintage, so creaking floors/closing doors were noticeable and unavoidable but despite close quarters, privacy was respected. Access to the whole house was granted, including shared bathroom with the host, but not including host's bedroom, however if more privacy or space was desired, then you could always change your scenery with a step outside or in the back yard. Our host offered wonderful restaurant suggestions we could walk to. Although things are all relatively close in this small town, a walk into town on a hot day would feel a lot longer than the 20ish minutes that (website hidden) said it would take. But parking was relatively easy in town so we just drove. Overall, Ojai treated us well :)
Antoinette was a great host. She was very respectful of our space and made us feel at home. Very clean and sweet. Location is perfect, super close to main street. We enjoyed our stay!
A lovely experience! Antoinette made me feel very welcome and this was a very supportive environment to be in, especially while in an intense workshop where I was needing a quiet, caring place to come back to each evening. She has a sweet cat named Peeka who I made friends with too. The home is in a great part of Ojai, pretty close to downtown. There are a lot of positive things I could say about this experience, but mostly I just want to say thank you!
I arrived quite late due to airline delays. Antoinette was very accommodating, leaving a key for me with instructions. There was a welcoming bowl of fresh strawberries in the room. The room was quite cold the first night, having found out in daylight that the windows were left open. Brrr 39 degrees. the next day she had a heater in my room warmed and ready. The bed was average in comfort. The kitchen was available to use for quick meals.
Antoinette was such a gracious hostess! We immediately felt welcomed and at ease with her, and the sleeping room was comfortable and quiet. She left fresh berries for us, along with special chocolates, and made us feel quite at home advising us on things to experience in the Ojai area. Sharing conversations with Antoinette was quite enjoyable and we found much in common.
Anotinette communicated very well in advance of my arrival and during my stay. The room was as advertised and the central Ojai location was very good. I was invited to use the living room in addition to the guest bedroom. The home is small, so being a quiet guest is the best fit.
Antoinette was a great host! She was very accommodating and responsive to my request on a short term notice. The perfect space for my quick visit to Ojai. She even helped me out with a little bit of guidance! Thank you for sharing your home with me!
