About this listing
Luxury villa on the white sand beach surrounded by mountains near Candi Dasa. Large property shared between 3 villas; incredible views, ponds,100 palm trees, tennis court, sauna, huge pool. Tranquil but close to the town. Safe swimming at the ocean.
Citakara Sari estate comprises three villas, security building, service building, ponds, several water features, hundreds of flowering bushes, fruit trees, and flowers, and 17 m infinity pool. The estate's use of thatch reclaimed teak panels, volcanic stones, and local granite/marble/sandstones, creates the sense of intimacy. Wonderful ocean views are ubiquitous at the estate and from every villa, guests can enjoy the proximity of the ocean. Each villa is equipped with living / dining room, kitchen, media room and two bedrooms with king-size beds, additional single and twin beds, day beds, and en-suite bathrooms. Hand planted, meticulously maintained lawn connects all structures and leads to the great swimming pool, a dining pavilion right on the edge of the property with a private white sand beach. This pavilion is used for any sort of things: dining area by the ocean, massage space for those who prefer open environment to totally private spa; yoga pavilion and space for art lessons by our artists in residence.
Our estate is managed by Ibu Ayu who has 20 years experience in hospitality and was with us since the very beginning. She leads the crew of seven with a variety of skills: professional cook, housemaids, pool boy, gardener and security staff.
Citakara sari estate occupies a huge piece of property (6200m2), large enough to build a small hotel. It will be very difficult if not impossible to find the oceanfront property of this size in a developed tourist area of Bali. Probably, space at the estate is one of the main “luxuries”. It will be certainly appreciated while in residence at the Citakara Sari estate. The simple physical space conceived in three linear dimensions somehow is considered with time and becomes the place where our guests and spend a week without going out of the front gate. It is tranquil and boundless.
Days can be passed by without even leaving the villa grounds – a morning snorkel in the lagoon off the small sand beach, exploring the coral beds and floating above shimmering schools of fish. The lagoon is perfect for kids and adults just learning to snorkel, with shallow waters, safely protected by the reef, and plenty of fish varieties to look at within meters of the shore.
The immense ocean in front of the property, the horizon far away provides for the continuous action of water and the clouds; mountains on the back contribute to a feeling of security and stop low clouds carrying rain from time to time.
We are in Mendira village in a tranquil corner of Candidasa, on The East coast of Bali. The small town Candi Dasa is short drive/walk away. The car with a driver is always there to bring our guests to Candi Dasa. Quite a number of different shops and restaurants for every budget are there.
Just recently completed the best highway 1 connects Citakara Sari to the capital/airport. Denpasar can be reached in 50 min and it takes a little over one hour to get to Ngurah Rai International Airport
Our villas are surrounded by tall trees as they were carefully built in a coconut grove. With a mountain at the back and ocean right in front of us, there are plenty to do for active travelers: hiking or snorkeling is technically at our gates. We are lucky to be located in Bali's diving triangle between wonderful diving spots of Nusa Penida/Nusa Lembongan with mola-mola fish, manta rays and plenty of great diving sites in front and around Candi Dasa. Activities include Balinese cooking classes and visits to the traditional market, hiking, mountain bike riding, white-water rafting, fishing and much more.
Of course, there are plenty of cultural artifacts and places around. Palaces of past Klunkung and Karangasem kings, sacred Hindu temples, scenic mountain valleys, authentic ancient villages and beautiful tropical parks are a short drive away.
Tennis court with lights, beach/boat; sauna/granite soaking tub, kitchen, laundry at the service area. Villa guests will share the pool with the other villas.
Interaction with Guests
There are staff and security at the compound, who take good care of the guests. Our manager greets the guests on arrival and helps to handle their needs. Breakfast can be cooked, other services available on request.
Our villa is located in Candi Dasa, a tranquil haven on the coast of east Bali, completely unlike most tourist destinations on the island. Candi Dasa was ‘discovered’ in the mid-eighties, but has remained a quiet refuge for artists, writers, and discerning travelers, seeking a beautiful retreat away from larger westernized resorts. The bustle of major cities like Ubud and Denpasar are within easy commuting distance, their excitement and entertainment is no more than one hour’s drive from Citakara Sari. We have fully equipped kitchen open to our guests; enterprising cooks can experiment with Balinese ingredients, which are readily available at the local markets. Exotic fruits and spices, as well as local staples, are all close by. There are also many wonderful restaurants in the area, some offer cooking classes, most deliver food to us. Swimming/snorkeling, fishing just off the beach, diving-many sites around accessible by car or boat; hiking trails start at the back of the village.
We provide complimentary transfers and local transportation (Candi Dasa), to rent a car with or without a driver is easy. We have plenty of parking, it is free.
Other Things to Note
Great diving around, spectacular White Sand Beach- 15 min away, plenty of palaces/temples around to visit, Bali Aga village Tengganan-15min, Bali Safari-20min, rafting-45min.
From Jun 1 - Aug 31, 2016 the minimum stay is 5 nights.

I love nature and sports, can't live without swimming/diving and tennis and skiing. Thus, my time should split in between places, which accommodate my hobbies. I enjoy meeting new people, especially if they share our interests. Art is my passion, I love Balinese music/dance/drama and enjoy working with local artists.
