The Space

Quiet country home surrounded by orchards and vineyards but only 3 miles from the freeway. Less than two hours from King's Canyon, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks! We are just 15 minutes south of Fresno, CA.

Meet our gentle alpacas. We have 15 right now and 4 pregnant moms -- due dates in November! They love carrots if you happen to bring some! Private entrance to your cozy room with private bathroom and shower. Wireless, plenty of parking space. Pool. Small towns nearby with good restaurants and stores. We are just "bed and breakfast" with check-in any time after 6 p.m. and check-out time 10:30 a.m. If you stay more than one night we can certainly be more flexible on times.

We love meeting people from all over the world and we'd love to meet you! Barb and Charis

  • Barb and Charis were great hosts, and the room was great! You can tell they really enjoy hosting. Barb took the time to give us a great tour of the alpaca ranch. It's really cool how much she and Charis love the animals and how much they sacrifice to make sure Handsome (who wouldn't feed from his mother) grows up healthy and strong. In the morning, we were treated to a great breakfast with coffee and a nice conversation about religion, which is one of my favorites. Bonus: super-comfortable bed! We recommend booking here!

  • Coming out of Sequoia National Park, Barb and Charis offered us a warm and very pleasant welcome. Their home is very comfortable and welcoming, as their adorable dogs. The room is exceptionally big with an independent and fully equipped bathroom. Outside, the Alpacas are as forthcoming as their patrons, and the baby was so cute... We enjoyed highly our exchanges and discussions with Barb and Charis, and highly recommend this location and their owners.

  • We had such an enjoyable stay at the Alpaca Ranch with Barb and Charis! It's hard to pick one thing: the relaxing conversations, the delicious breakfast, or the alpaca encounter and feeding. All in all it was a very memorable stay and we recommend it highly!

  • Loved the stay at the Alpaca ranch. Barb was great. Barb had
Some alpaca socks that I purchased for my family for Valentine's
Day and really like them. Treat yourself to a pair, you will be glad you did.

  • Had a lovely evening chatting with Barbara, as a fellow alpaca breeder (ex) and a fellow AirBnB host we had a lot in common. The room was nice, however there was a lot of dog hair in the sheets, which was a little uncomfortable. Barbara also tried hard to accommodate my "wacky" new paleo diet. I truly appreciated her efforts there, as traveling and diets can be so tricky.

    Response from Barb:

We were very surprised by Phyllis's comment that there was dog hair in the sheets. Of our over 100 guests, this was the first time we had a complaint and wish she had brought her concerns to our attention at the time. The comfort of our guests is of utmost concern to us! The sheets had been freshly washed, of course, but from now on, we'll have special "AirBnB" sheets that our dogs haven't touched. Having so many different people from all over the world visiting us and sharing the experience of our lovely alpacas has been such an enriching experience! We look forward to many more interesting and unique guests!

  • The visit to Barb and Charis's alpaca ranch was a surprise to my camelid-loving traveling companion. The critters were a hit, and I only hope that Handsome stays so tame. Barb and Charis were wonderfully gracious and accommodating hosts. If you want to visit alpacas, I'd recommend it highly. If not, there's not a lot else in Fowler.

  • We truly enjoyed our stay, Barb and Charis were very gracious hosts to both us and our famiily when they visited to see the alpacas. We had a lot of fun talking with them every morning when they served us a delicious breakfast including homemade granola and Charis' homemade banana bread.
We hope next time we visit the weather will be warm enough to enjoy the pool in their lovely back yard.

  • Barb and Charis are great. I felt very relaxed and welcomed at their ranch. I was on a very tight schedule but Barb was kind enough to show me around the ranch and her alpacas. Their two dogs are very cute.

  • My wife and I had a great time staying at the Alpaca Ranch! Barb and Charis are very welcoming and friendly. We arrived late and had no problem finding the place or getting in. They showed us around the place and we even got to help take care of the little guys! I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area!

I retired from teaching in 2006 and have raised alpacas for 11 years. Bed and Breakfast with AirBnB has been a great experience for us. We love meeting people, visiting and learning new things about other places. We also do commercial mortgage inspections around the Central Valley and we play lots of pickleball whenever we can. We'll tell you all about it! :)
