Amazing stay in Francisco house! You need a 4x4 (which I recommend anyway for all Costa Rica) and the location worths it : living space is in the upper level from where you live like in trees and enjoy a panoramic view. It s a charming house where you feel good and relax immediately. We planed to stay 3 nights but we finally stayed 8. We went daily to Avellanas and Negra beaches to chill out and practice surfing with kids (great safe waves to start). A word about Francisco : great host, easy going and always available to share advices if you need it.

Awesome experience. This place may not be for everyone, but perfect for those who want a great Costa Rican experience. Access to the property is 10 minutes up a dirt road, but then you are 10 minutes away from everything, in the middle of your own private forest. Francisco was awesome, assisting with all our needs, especially during craziness of new years eve in Tamarindo. Thanks Fransisco!

Francisco was a great host. He was accomodating and informative even before we made our reservation. Upon our arrival, he met us at a local grocery store to lead us to the house. The house was as described. The location is definitely off the beaten path, and requires an adventurous drive. Francisco suggests a 4-wheel drive vehicle, and this is a good suggestion. The view from the house is incredible, and the sunsets are spectacular. It is about a 20-25 minute drive to the closest beach. The kitchen has everything you need. It is on the outside of the house, but this was not a problem. Not having air conditioning was not a problem, as with the windows open, the breeze was plenty to make us feel cool. An added bonus was our 6am wake up one morning from a howler monkey in a tree just outside our window! If you are wanting a nature filled, adventurous and rustic experience, this is the place!

At the end of a road, in the middle of the jungle, at the top of a mountain yet only 20 minutes from down town Tamarindo and several beautiful beaches is this unique once in a life time amazing location! No neighbors in sight and no sounds except monkeys, crickets and birds. This beautiful rain forest is immensely detoxing and nourishing. I stayed for 6 weeks and was in awe each day of the many sacred gifts of this location. I had a 4 mile loop that I ran at sunrise. Some days I switched up the running by driving to Avenalla's beach. I worked, ate, meditated and relaxed on the deck. As there are several electrical outlets on the deck I could set up my laptop anywhere. Even in heavy rain it is lovely to sit on the covered deck and take in the endless beauty. I loved the option of showering outdoors. A couple of very nice touches was that the house manager Francisco keeps yoga mats in the house for guest use. He also keeps beach chairs and a cooler and ice blocks available. I used them fir bringing breakfast to enjoy after my morning runs at the beach. Francisco is an incredibly kind and generous host. Always available when I had a question or needed something. Like when I unexpectedly needed a specific medication he found a pharmacy which had it, or when I was out driving and got lost he always picked up the phone and gave me proper directions. I am forever grateful to this house, the jungle and Francisco.

This place was perfect - if you are looking for a secluded spot with amazing views surrounded by wildlife, you will love this place. It is not easy to get to, but Francisco made sure to meet us on our schedule and escort us directly to the house. It is a 15 minute drive up a dirt path from the main road to the house, then 15 minutes from there to avellana and tamarindo. Would definitely recommend picking up groceries and taking advantage of the bbq and outdoor kitchen.

We had a very nice experience staying at Francisco's treetop home. The views were spectacular! The home is very secluded and peaceful all you can hear are monkeys and the wilderness. Francisco was awesome. He truly understands hospitality and went out of his way to help us and make us feel comfortable. His house is located on a very rugged private rode that required a 4x4. Francisco recommended the 4x4 which we did not do and soon regretted, even with our mistake, Francisco made trips to pick us up and take us to the home when needed. We rate the experience 5 out of 5 stars. Re one faction for travelers: Get 4x4
