The house is an older farmhouse with a cute garden in the front and sheep in a pasture in the back. It is located out in the country and is very quiet and peaceful. Wifi was not always great since it is from the mobile phone towers. Bridget was quick to respond to messages, and the neighbor who met us to show us around was wonderfully helpful.

Bridget's farmhouse provided me with just the period of solitude and quiet I was seeking. I stayed there five weeks. The house is comfortable and on a road that runs through green, hilly countryside, perfect for the long walks I wanted to take. Bridget's friend met me at a spot on the main road to lead me to the house and then showed me around and even had me follow her into Tuam to show me where the supermarket was. She's a neighbor and was kind and helpful throughout my stay. And Bridget responded quickly whenever I had questions. I enjoyed making a turf fire every day and then working at the table in the front room with a lovely view out to the front garden and the fields across the road. The kitchen was well equipped and convenient. I'd definitely stay here again if I get back to this area. The house was a little further from Galway city than I'd imagined, but it was an easy 40-minute drive to the center.

The house is a cozy, homey country cottage, but we never actually stayed there because at the time we booked this Bridgett was out of town and the Wi-Fi was not in service. Bridget graciously immediately offered to refund our money.

At home! Highly recommended. 2 very big bedrooms with good beds. A complete kitchen with all necessary appliances. The bathroom had everything from shampoo to hairdryer. Free access to wood for the 2 fireplaces in the house & a nicely kept garden. Bridget organized even a third night which wasn´t planned and was very helpful, as was Christina, the neighbour who greeted us into the house. The house has literally EVERYTHING you will need. My two kids and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you!

We loved staying in Bridget's very warm and homely place in a gorgeous location. And a fab base to see our favourite part of Ireland. The kids loved it.

Very warm and comfortable house. Everything that we needed was there and Bridget was always helpful. Had lovely barbecue evenings and my sisters really enjoyed looking out for wild animals (rabbits, fox). Good place to stay if you want to visit the West of Ireland. Would highly recommend it!

Everything was simply charming and wonderful--the only frustration was finding the house...the roads are not named and there are no house numbers. Be sure to use the GPS coordinates! But even with that trouble, it was well worth it. This is real Irish living! Thanks so much!

Barbersfort farm is a really special place, totally private with rabbits, foxes, livestock and birds in abundance. The farm is a wildlife oasis with sheep and 23 acres of forestry to enjoy. Its especially lovely when the weather is good and you can see Croagh Patrick in the distance on a good day!
My son Paul and daughters Louise and Anna help me with organising bookings so the chances are you will be dealing with them.
I hope you will enjoy staying there as much as we do!
