What a wonderful place to stay.
We loved it and would want to move in anytime.
Our best spot in Ireland.
Wonderful house, lots of room.
Almost on top of a hillside, fantastic view, with sheep all around and Sandy the Poney on site (our daughter was pleased to give it water every day).
Friendly hosts. It was a perfect relaxing vacation.
Also great location to drive to Galway (but be patient; often traffic jams), Connemara, Cliffs of Moher, etc.
We loved our stay and were sad to have move on!
Note that it's tricky to get there; make sure you bring pictures of the house and the name of the hosts (as Fahy is known by locals).
This is what we hoped the cottage would be like - very Irish, very original. It was located in the middle of fields (there were sheep on the field behind the house) and we lit a turf fire in one of the two fireplaces every evening, which made it very cosy. There was plenty of turf in the garage. We could wash our clothes in the modern washer and we used the cottage as a base camp for multiple day trips to Galway and other locations nearby.
We had a nice stay at the farmhouse. Bridget was responsive and helpfully left us keys for our late arrival. Overall though, the house was a little more rundown than expected, given that it was described as refurbished. It smelled musty and was very cold, and the heater was hard to work out. Additionally, the GPS coordinates provided did not match our sat nav and only got us to the village - it was pure chance that we found the house after that.
Bridget's farmhouse is so charming. We LOVED it. I wasn't totally clear on a couple of things and her son was kind enough to resolve my questions very quickly. We truly enjoyed the countryside and the city of Galway......a bit of a drive but we never minded it. Thank you Bridget for your kind hospitality!!
Bridget and Paul are excellent and nice people.
It is a real cozy (website hidden) is located about 30 m from Galway in a peaceful and charming place on the outskirsts of Tuam.
The farmhouse is clean and confortable and the garden is lovely!
Paul's cottage near Abeyknockmoy was a great place stay. I had a hard time finding the cottage from the directions but I stopped at the local pub and got some great help. It was a very nice peaceful place to stay. A quick trip in to Galway or other western Ireland locations. My kids especially liked seeing the sheep that grazed in the field behind the cottage. I highly recommend the location and house and would stay again if I get the chance.
Paul and his sister were great hosts. We found fresh flowers welcoming us and staples in the fridge that were a perfect start to our first morning there. Loved the sheep and surrounding area. Only difficulty was finding the place initially; make sure you have great directions!
We loved the cozy farmhouse! It was very spacious and the bedrooms were decorated lovely. It was much bigger than we expected! The kitchen had everything we needed and the best part was watching the sheep that were right off the patio. This cottage was the perfect escape from city life. Paul took our reservation last minute and was attentive to our needs. He also left a list of fun spots to visit where we found the Connemara National Park and had a lovely visit to the abbey. We would recommend the Cosy Farmhouse to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. Thank you Paul!
We had a lovely stay at the farmhouse, if you are looking for a quiet and spacious place away from the city, this is ideal! I LOVED the fireplace, as well as the view on the grazing lambs. Paul was a great host, very helpful and available.
Myself and a few friends stayed at Paul's cottage. It was everything we could have wanted! Great location, it was located about 30 minutes from Galway and only a few minutes drive from a small town called Taum.
Paul had everything set up for us to use the fireplace - all we had to do was go out and grab the wood. Also, when I mentioned to Paul that my friends and I were looking for some places to go hiking, he sent me an email the next day with a list of places to go that were close by!
This cottage would be a great location for someone who is looking for a peaceful place to stay. There's great scenery, and at night it's completely quiet - I got the best night's sleep there. I was recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. If I'm ever in that area of Ireland again, I would defiantly stay there.
