About this listing
Perfect place to live during your Stavanger stay;
2 bedrooms apartment, open kitchen - living room and loft room. We can house more than 4 guests, using the loftroom. The Loftroom is cold during cold season, please take that into consideration. Internet. Cable TV. Parking. The area is calm and quiet.
10 minute walk to the center of Stavanger, 8 minutes to the bus/railway station. A local shop 4 blocks away. 8 minutes walk to Pedersgata offering a wide range of take away (sushi, thai, chinese, turkish, mid-east ). 15 minutes walk to the main music and art venues.
Beautiful pedestrian road close by, for a great walk by the fjord (from Hillevaagsvannet via Godalen, Ramsvik to Lervig with a great coffee place Ostehuset Oest as a treat after a hour walk, then through the recidense area back to Jelsagata). Day trips to the Pulpit Rock and Kjerag is possible from our location. The flat has been renovated in 2011.
We love Storhaug, since it is so close to the city center and still so calm and friendly. There are small streets with traditional wooden houses, local shops with extended opening hours and take aways if you prefere eating home without cooking.
No smoking. No pets. No shoe inside, typical for norwegian homes. Respect for the neighbour downstairs, so this is not a party place. Beside all these no's a lot of fun and joy!
The house was beautifully modern and a very comfortable size for 6 people. The shower was definitely our favourite feature. John was an absolutely amazing host. i didn't personally meet him but he was so helpful with all the information prior to the hikes and during our stay. I would definitely recommend the house. We hired a car and had room to park. The neighbourhood was very quiet and quaint. Loved our stay.
From the very beginning, John was very professionally and prompt in responding to all my emails, and there were many! He was a very helpful host in helping us plan our trip to Kjerag and Pulpit Rock.
The location of his flat is about a 10-15 minute walk with us rolling our suitcases from the bus station. It's also pretty close to the city centre where all the restaurants are. There are grocery stores within a 5 minute walk.
His flat is also very spacious, great for families and for those that like to cook! Fully equipped kitchen.
If you plan on doing Pulpit Rock or Kjerag, I highly recommend staying here as it's the perfect location to catch the bus and ferry to both hikes.
Thanks for a wonderful stay, John! And thanks for our personalized map to show us where we needed to go for our hikes. That was very thoughtful of you.
The accommodations are as described. A clean 2nd/3rd floor apartment in a nice neighborhood of Stavanger. John has spent time renovating so the flat is basically new throughout and decorated with an eclectic assortment nick-nacs that give a hip feel to the space. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances - the range top was a bit of challenging to decipher, but John had great instructions for everything else. As others have pointed out there are no privacy coverings on the windows and the stairs a tricky and steep to navigate. Also parking was tight for an Estate car. John was helpful and friendly and gave us plenty of pointers. Great place and a great host
We loved this little house in Stavanger. It has the top floor and the location is ideal - just a short walk to a market or to town. The high point has to be the radiant heat in the floor of the bathroom - so wonderful in the morning!
John is an outstanding communicator. He leaves the house rules/details on laminated sheets with helpful pictures. He's quick to reply to emails at all hours. The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. We felt right at home.
Beautiful (dream) house located in the central city Stavanger, spacious for 4 people and with complete household you didn't bring during vacation.
Thank you John for being such a warm host with loads of information on what to do in Stavanger.
John was a fantastic host with a very nice home! He was more than welcoming and exceptionally nice and resourceful. His place is large modern and updated with plenty of space for hanging out after long days of hiking and exploring Stavanger. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.
