  • I was delighted with this apartment is clean cozy kitchen has an exellent very practical for those who would rather cook than go all day at the restaurant since things in Norway is very expensive, wonderful bathroom with a shower exellent. Nothing to complain about, we passed well our stay in the apartment of John. Thank you John, the next time will be en Stavanger in your apartment.

  • John's place was a great home away from home in Stavanger. It is located within walking distance from the downtown area and is well appointed. We were visiting Stavanger for a conference, stayed there with 3 adults for 5 nights and were able to save considerable money on food by cooking in the well appointed kitchen. Coming from California, the highlight of the apartment was the rain shower and heated floors in the bathroom- quite a luxury. In general though, the home is very pleasant and aesthetic. Part of the top floor is an artist studio that offers some unique viewing perspectives out of the rooftop windows. The only word of caution to offer is that the stairs to the apartment are a little steep and narrow, so people with a lot of luggage or poor mobility may have some problems.

Thank you for a wonderful opportunity to see Stavanger!

    Response from John:

    Thanks Eric,
I felt a little environment guilty about the water/heat used for the bathroom. But then I remembered sunny California as a contrast to the rain in Norway supplying us with almost 100% recycleable energy through waterplants and enough water for the rain shower :-) I guess a lot of Norwegians would go for the sunny side of the story, especially through the winther months.
The stairs are normal for most Norwegian private houses. You need a bourgeois home to get them considerable wider. Luckily its only one floor to the flat.
Thanks for staying Eric and welcome back!

  • From the start, John was very friendly and helpful in answering all of our questions. Unfortunately, my boyfriend hurt his knee before our trip and we were unable to make it to Stavanger. John was extremely accommodating under the circumstances, and our friends that did say in the apartment were very pleased. Highly recommended!

  • Thanks to John for letting us stay in his flat. We had a good communication and we had no problems finding the flat - his instructions regarding the flat was detailed and easy to understand. We had a great time in Stavanger and using this flat as our base was perfect due to it's location and the good atmosphere in the flat. We loved that it had so big windows and so much light and that it was very nicely furnished. I loved the bath room! We would very much like to rent it again when or if we come back to Stavanger another time.
