Francesco met us at the train station to walk us to our flat. He made us feel very welcome and was very communicative throughout our trip. I loved the location of the flat and felt I got to meet a few local residents I may have missed had I stayed on the water. The town is absolutely lovely!
The stairs are a little steep, so I would caution if you have knee problems.
Grazie Simonetta and Francesco!
Loved Vernazza! What a great stay! We were met at the train station and Simonetta insisted on helping with my heavy luggage up the steps. What a great host - our Italian was non-existent and his English limited, but we managed to communicate just fine. Simonetta was kind enough to let us keep our luggage at the apartment longer than check out on our last day. The apartment is spacious, clean and great hot water. No view of the water, but a charming alley that is typical of Italian apartments. Great location, close to the train station and main plaza, but still quiet. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Francesco was a gracious and wonderful host. He met us at the train station and helped us to his home. It was very cozy and really felt like we were residents in vernazza. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful 3 nights stay in Vernazza. We were met at the station for the short walk back to the apartment. There may be about 30 steps in total up the small back alley and including about 15 up to the appartment, but we managed this fine with our large backpacks on. The apartment is basic but comfortable for 2 and great hot water. The wifi needed to be turned off and on a few times but when we got it to work it wasnt too bad. We could not get the washing machine to work as it would not fill with water, and so we ended up hand washing..
Communication was fast but mostly in Italian, but we got by ok. We were very happy we chose Vernazza to stay in and the other towns as day trip destinations, vernazzas square is situated on the water and this appartment is just off the main square.
Francesco met us at the station and led us on the short walk to this lovely studio apartment. We had our 2 daughters with us, making a party of 4. Francesco had set up the 2 extra beds. There is enough room to walk around and space for our luggage but it was a little cramped. The spacious bathroom was a real plus. We loved Vernazza and hiking in the National Park. We would definitely stay here again.
Everything was as expected and better. Location is perfect. Very few steps compared to many places at Vernazza. We were two hours late arriving but Francesco was still their to meet us.
May be handy for others to know that we bought a Tim SIM card in La Spezia for just 30 euros which, for one month, gave us 200 minutes talk time to virtually anywhere in the world, 2GB data and 5 euros credit to cover a few SMS's. All works withiin one hour of purchase. Used my smart phone as WiFi hotspot and thus perfect internet for both my wife and I (iPad plus laptop).
Many thanks Francesco and Simonetta
Had a wonderful experience at this this tastefully furnished and well equipped apartment. With plenty of kitchen supplies including condiments, coffee and plenty of paper/cloth towels and plenty of towels and bath supplies we found only positive surprises when we entered. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Be sure to close the double pane windows if you don't want to hear neighbors. The proximity to the train and the main street and square was ideal, but the view was nothing more than the other homes and steps in the small but very charming alley. The very accommodating owner met us right on time, and let us store our bags there beginning before noon while he cleaned the unit. This apartment had generous space to move around in and a very spacious bathroom. I recommend it highly.
