Description

The space

Le Mouton Qui Rit - the laughing sheep

Our B&B is in a tiny farming village in the north of the Haute Saone. Lots of forest, hilly and excellent for walking and cycling holidays!
You can do POTTERY in our workshop and if you stay about a week (special pricing available) it can even be fired and glazed in our electrical ceramic oven. There is a solar heated pool, so you can swim from mid May till late October. Our hottub can be used throughout the year (requires advance notice).
Everything is enclosed so it is safe for kids to run around. They can play with our sheep, help feeding them or just walk along. Or roam in our orchard, look for nuts under the walnut tree.
The house is nearly 200 years old and originally a farm house. So it is an old building where you may find a spec of dust or an occasional insect running around.

DISTANCES TO OTHER CITIES:
50 KM to Epinal&Vesou TGV !
80 KM to Gray, Langres, Gerardmer, la Bresse (ski)
100KM to Dijon, Besançon, Nancy.

It is 45 km to the A31 ((Val de Meuse) and 35 to the E25 (route soleil) thus we are situated quite central.

TO DO:
Close by you can ride horses, rent a culot (horse and wagon) there are a few spots you can go kayaking. There are a lot of thermal baths for a few hours of a cure of several days. And driving around in the area is just a must. Many of our guests bring their bicycles or running / walking shoes and spent a few days here.

TABLE D`HOTES:
We offer also a Table d`Hôtes, we have a passion for cooking, especially the medieval dishes. And of course you may assist in cooking, suggest dishes, the kids always love to help us too.

We had a nice stay in this warm b&b in the middle of a very nice rural environnement. Cornelis and his wife are very warm hosts and our kids felt at home immediately and were sad we didn't stay for more than 1 night. The diner and breakfast were very nice. We will certainly come back for a longer stay!

Cornelis and Fanny were extremely welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. Our 3 children loved the swimming pool and petting the sheep in the field nearby, as well as seeing a real pottery studio. I had booked the downstairs appartment which was very quiet and the rooms were neat and tidy, the settee a little stiff but ok for one night. The meal we had with our hosts was very enjoyable, though a little pricy for the quality of the dishes. Overall a great stay for a family.

I like, above all, cooking. Do pottery, read detectives, listen to classical music. Love our conversations at the dinner table and like to hear your story.
