This beautiful home is in an upscale, safe neighborhood of Trejos Montealegre, Escazu (about 8 km, 15 minute bus ride from downtown San Jose) has 4 rooms to meet different budgets and needs regarding time. Stay for 2 days, or 2 months, perhaps longer.
There are restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, movies, shopping center, medical/dental offices, hospital, Spanish lessons, grocery stores all within a short taxi ride or not much longer if you are a walker.
The GARDEN Room is small, but cute, with a private bath, our most economical, all the amenities on a cozy scale. Door opens into the garden. There is Internet in the room and at a covered table just outside for gathering or working with Internet. Guests have been offered larger rooms but have chosen this one! This room is appropriate for only one person, two if you are very friendly with a TWIN BED.
The DELIGHT room is a comfortable 13 ft X 13 ft room with a private bath and a QUEEN BED. Sleeps two comfortably.
The MTN VIEW room is an even larger room than the DELIGHT with a shared bath and a QUEEN BED and TWIN BED. The one other person who shares the bathroom is usually out and on her way by 6:30 AM, 7:30 on week-ends, so it is almost like having your own bathroom.
The GRAND room is a huge room with jacuzzi
It has a QUEEN BED and a SOFA or TWIN BED. Sleeps 3 comfortably with space to put more mattresses on the floor for friendly folks.
Weekly and monthly rates available. Guests are welcome for medical/dental tourism, internships, transition times, relocation exploration, international telecommuting or ???

Great connections/referrals for your medical and dental needs at a fraction of the cost of the U.S. or Canada but with equal, perhaps superior quality. Ask us for details.
4 adorable cats are outside only.
Separate listings with calendars have been created for the other rooms mentioned above. The calendars are updated usually on a daily basis. Please write if you have questions and/or specific needs.
Roam The World For Free ARTICLE CELL PHONES
Thursday, 17 October 2013
Have you ever had an amazing vacation in a foreign country only to come home to a US$500 cell phone bill? You only checked a few emails, used (website hidden) Maps, and uploaded pictures to (website hidden) to make your friends jealous, so how could it cost that much?
I've been a victim to these outrageous roaming fees which has lead me to either leave my phone in airplane mode or buy a local prepaid SIM card in the country I am visiting, neither of which is ideal.
Beginning on Oct. 20th, the U.S. cellular company T-Mobile is changing the game in international travel by getting rid of international roaming fees. That's right, U.S. T-Mobile users will now be able to roam the world with their current cell phone and number at no extra cost.
The service will be available in countries including Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, France, Italy, China, and 200 other countries. It allows unlimited data usage and texting, with phone calls at a rate of 20 cents per minute. The service automatically connects to the local service in the new country and requires nothing for the user to do.
T-Mobile's new plan is perfect for the frequent and infrequent traveler that wants to always be connected while they are away. Picture being able to hop from country to country in Europe, use all of your data, apps, maps, and email, and not be penalized for it. The savings and convenience are extraordinary.
T-Mobile is currently the only cell phone provider in the United States offering an international cell phone service like this. It's great they are the first to recognize that we live in a global world where people want to be connected no matter where they are. It will also be interesting to see whether the larger carriers like Verizon and AT&T eventually jump on board.
For more information on T-Mobile's new plan visit: (website hidden)(email hidden)ml.

This is our 'home away from home' when we visit San Jose. Liza was most helpful with suggestions to make our trip a memorable one. Her home is so welcoming and we met such interesting guests the whole week we were there. She would even pack our fruit breakfasts for our early start to our day trips. Don't forget to ask for Carlos, our driver and tour guide extraordinaire! Thank you Liza for the memories!
This is my new go-to place any time I need to stay near San Jose. The accommodations are excellent, and Liza was beyond awesome. Fresh fruit every morning for breakfast, facilities to cook our own dinners, just everything we could have asked for and more.
Perfect place to stay in the neigbourhood of San Jose. You are at home and can be at the same time on yourself. Next time we go again to this great place!
Our experience with Liza was very positive and we would highly recommend her and her lovely home in Escazu, CR. This was our 1st use of Airbnb and would definitely use it again. Liza, herself was generous with her time, knowledge, and anything else we asked about or needed.
I really enjoyed my stay with Liza. The house is lovely and the Mountain View room was spacious and very comfortable. Located in one of the best neighbourhoods, it’s within easy (and safe!) walking distance to restaurants and shops, and if you don’t feel like walking, taxis are inexpensive. There’s also an inner courtyard with 3 very sweet outdoor-only cats to enjoy, partially covered in case it rains! Highly recommended.
Quiet, clean, safe, solidly-built. Very comfortable bed and linens, handy desk, adequate lighting, excellent shower, great location. Formerly associated with the American Embassy, the house is architecturally interesting and in a neighborhood of large, similarly gated homes and embassies.
The kitchen is minimal for extensive cooking--no range--but adequate to the needs of travelers: microwave, hot plates, toaster oven, your own shelf in the refrigerator and pantry, all utensils and plating are provided, as well as laundry facilities. Located near food markets, bus stops, and restaurants, it's also near CIMA hospital and only a 20-minute walk to a huge shopping mall. It's easily accessible by freeway but doesn't get the noise, fumes or bustle. Preferable to any of the nearby expensive hotels for a mature traveler.
The person offering this lodging is bi-lingual in English and Spanish, a well-traveled, delightful but inobtrusive hostess. She offers both internet connection and a local phone to guests and can suggest reliable taxi-operators to pick you up at the airport, take you on tours, or see you get to appointments.
I recently spent a week here. I don't know where to start but everything that was mentioned in the bio for this property was true, including Liza the manager of the property. I was in Costa Rica to attend a seminar for information about Costa Rica, living there and moving there. I attained a lot of very useful info at the seminar. Briefly speaking with Liza she had given me some info she has gained with living there for 10 years and everything she had said was also mentioned at the seminar I attended. I was leaving each morning early and she had gotten up to prepare a bowl of assorted fruit for me. This wouldn't happen at the previous hotels I have stayed with all my travels. The hours the restaurant or kitchen would not be altered I would have to find another place for breakfast. The home was very nice and clean. The WIFI was very good. My next vacation to the San Jose area, I will definately stay here,(that is if there are rooms available), If you are planning to be in the Escazu or neighboring areas I would highly recommend you look here for an available room(s). I stress this because of the great value, and all the other wonderful things that go with this BNB, the rooms book up fast for repeat vacationers, some stay weeks or even months at a time. The area of this BNB is a within a 10 minute walk of Walmart, Tony Romas, TGI Fridays or some local cuisine, 5 -10 minutes bus or taxi to many other locations and downtown Escazu. This is a safe and quite part of town as well. I hope this will help you in searching for a nice and affordable place to stay.
Booking with Liza is the best thing you can do. Her beautiful home is warm and friendly, the location is superb, you can walk to shops, restaurants and the bus stop. Liza is the most thoughtful person I have met in years, you will be comfortable, at home and in the best of hands.
