Helen was away, so unfortunately we didn't get to meet her. She sent her sister to greet us instead. We didn't realise she would be staying for the duration of our visit, but due to unexpected issues with the wifi accidentally being disconnected by a joiner the morning before we arrived it was just as well she was around and very hands on! So the connection was fixed by the following evening, and with only one minor niggle it worked well for the rest of our stay. (The main reason that this was a big issue for us was that my partner had unexpected urgent work to attend to and was very reliant on working wifi). Helen's house is absolutely gorgeous, and supremely clean! The bed was comfortable, the sheets were flawless and we had access to two large bathrooms. The living room looked out on the sea and was very tastefully decorated with cosy big sofas. We were reluctant to use it in the evenings as Helen's sister was there, and we didn't want to impose, but we made good use of it in the mornings as my partner had essential work to do, which wasn't really possible to sit and do in the bedroom. The facilities were perfect. We bought our own food and snacks which we could store in the fridge, and Helen's sister made us feel very at home by putting out cereal, fresh fruit, mugs and bowls a few mornings. There was also coffee and tea we were free to use! Helen's house is a convenient 10 minute walk from the station, and close to local attractions such as the Titanic Experience, the Sirius Arts Centre and the St Colman's Cathedral which a definite must-see. Also close by is a small supermarket and other charming shops. We would definitely recommend this place for a quiet stay in Cobh. Only wish we'd had the good fortune to meet Helen herself - by the look of her house she must be an equally lovely host!

"Make yourself at home" was the formula Helen welcomed us with... and we did, using the fridge, the cooker, helping ourselves with tea and coffee, and we sure enjoyed the view on the sea from the house windows. She helped us with directions, places worth seeing and had talks about our respective jobs, drawbacks and advantages of living in Ireland and France. Could we ask more ? Thanks for a great stay at your place.

I didn't get to meet Helen in person but even from email she was very helpful and made sure we had someone there to greet us and show us around. The location overlooking the harbour was beautiful and we were very happy with our choice to stay there.

I had an amazing experience with Helen, she is the kindest, most caring host. The house was spotless clean at all times and has this warm cozy atmosphere of a seaside villa with great views and spacious living room. If you are coming to Cork or Cobh on a vacation or business trip I would totally recommend you staying here, 5 stars all the way!

I have a fabulous home in the heart of Cobh, which I love.

My house 5 minutes stroll to the bars, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Cobh is a great place to live and is situated on the Great Island. The island is linked to the main land by a bridge and ferry, but still really close to Cork City, so it's a great base for exploring Cobh, Cork and the neighbouring Counties.

We are also really lucky to have a train service in Cobh - which takes a very scenic 25 minutes to Cork City. You can also take the train to Midleton and check out the Midleton Jameson Distillery.

Cobh was once called Queenstown and was Titanic’s last port of call on the voyage to New York. Cobh has one of the largest natural harbours in the world. The cruise liners that visit Cobh, some of which are the largest in the world, pass by my windows, which is an amazing sight.

Millions of Irish emigrants departed from Queenstown between 1848 and 1950, seeking a new life in North America. Much of historic Queenstown still remains including the train station, White Star Line’s office building, and St. Colman's Cathedral. One can imagine the excitement and confusion of the passengers and crew who passed through Cobh’s harbour waters to an unknown future.

As well as being an airbnb lady, I am a qualified Nurse and Access Consciousness Bars Facilitator - which is a wonderfully relaxing treatment for bringing ease to your life, removing stumbling blocks and creating clarity - by touching 32 points on the head. I am also a Pranic Healer - which is a no touch energy treatment. Healing Packages can be arranged, if you want to address any health and well being issues in your life. 'Helen Geary Pranic Healer' and you will be able to check out my Pranic Healing website.

For the golfers out there, there are numerous courses within 30 minutes drive from my home. For a Customised Irish Golf Tour let me know and I will put you in touch with one of my former guests, who is now a Cobh Resident.

There are daily boat trips around the harbour and to Spike Island, which is Ireland's version of Alcatraz. The Prison served as both a Military and Civilian prison over the years.

Sea Angling Charters also operate from Cobh and across the harbour near the harbour mouth lies the village of Crosshaven, which boasts the oldest Yacht Club in the world.

You will have a very warm welcome and will be encouraged to treat my home as your home while you're here in Cobh.

My house is referred to by many as 'The House of Calm'. So if you want a calm, gentle environment and you are happy to come and go as you please, this is the place for you.
