The Beara Peninsula is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas in all of Ireland. Located on the north side of the Beara Peninsula Cappa House has fantastic views over Coulagh Bay and Kilcatherine Point and beyond to the Iveragh Peninsula in Co Kerry. It is an ideal location to explore not only the Ring of Beara but also the Ring of Kerry. The location is a walkers paradise with a loop of the Beara Way Walking route adjoining the property. This beautifully restored farmhouse is located 1. 2 miles from the colourful village of Eyeries, 9 miles from Allihies (Copper Mines and sandy Ballydonegan Beach), 5 miles from the fishing port of Castletownbere and Bere Island to the south and 30 miles from the upmarket town of Kenmare in Co Kerry. Other areas of interest include Dursey Island cable car, Dunboy Castle and woods, Healy Pass, Garnish Island near Glengarriff village and Dzogchen Beara Buddhist Centre.
A car is necessary for traveling to Cappa House and around the Beara Peninsula. Plenty private parking available around property. It is 2 hours from Cork Airport, 3.5 hrs from Shannon Airport and 1.5 hrs from Kerry Airport.

One pet allowed, no smoking inside the property. I expect guests to leave the property the way they found it.
Wonderful house. Lots of character. If you are looking for a get away, this is it. Would absolutely return and recommend Fran as a host. She is a lovely woman who is interested in her guests and making sure they have everything they need. A prime example of hospitality.
Fran was very welcoming and even gave us a bottle of sparkling wine as the trip was a mini honeymoon for us.. the house was spacious and well equipped, close to Eyries where we had a lovely meal on the first night; and the perfect location for discovering Allihies and Dursey Island. Thanks Fran!
We stayed in Cappa House for 2 nights over the June Bank Holiday weekend. Fran was extremely helpful and obliging in every way. We changed our arrival time 3 times and that was no problem. There were 3 of us - My husband, the dog and I. We had so much space in the 3-bed-roomed house it was like having a guesthouse to ourselves. We were only sorry we hadn't brought a few friends!
One rainy day offered us the chance to watch a couple of the many DVDs which are stacked in the house. The house is stocked better than our own for cooking, cleaning and eating.
Wifi speed was great and the showers were gorgeous. I can't find fault with the house or the service from Fran. The house was perfect for the dog too as he could roam around the garden to his heart content.
The view from the house isn't justified in the photos. It is spectacular and the charming town of Eyeries is a ten minute stroll through the fields. Walks in the area are hard to beat.
Such a peaceful and beautiful environment was made all the better with all the comforts of a very modern and pretty farmhouse.
Fran even made sure to post our phone chargers back to us which we foolishly left plugged in to the sockets!
Thanks Fran. We will be back.
I'm a qualified laboratory technician but I left lab work in 2007 to work in the tourism industry. I currently own and run a holiday home on the beautiful Beara Peninsula in West Cork in Ireland. I love hosting as I enjoy meeting new people and welcoming back previous customers. S I have now opened a B&B business on Beara very close to Cappa House.
